That Golf is all wrong - it's sitting far too high and there's no old suitcase or pineapple on the roof rack.

Trabi looks GR9 - I actually quite fancy one of those at the moment, and that colour quite suits it.

Welcome along.

I like the steel wheels and chrome hubcap combo on the Golf. And the bit of flowery cloth plus assorted screws and bolts in the parcel tray of the Trab. Great pair!

Hmmmm, non-scene VW. Lovely. Trabant is ace too. The perfect colour clash! Welcome.

Trust me to say hi on the other thread, I was always the odd one left on the side when all the teams were picked, WELL I WANNA PLAY..............................Welcome

Welcome! I love the Trabi and the Golf looks splendid 8)

Golf is lovely, Trabant is super. I was just looking at them on eBay, but I don't know the first thing about two stroke cars - how easy are they to live with?

AAAHHHH!! TRABANT!! Can I have ago in it?!

Welcome!

Loving the Trabant, perfect colour too. And brave enough to commute in her? All kudos to you. I use my AD016 everyday for work too, makes the journey in a pleasure. Always wanted to try the convertible VW, yours looks very nice. :D

The Trabant is stupendously shit! Welcome along indeed!

My trabby was a 601 S - where S stood for 'standard'

I'm just trying to work out how it differed...

Front fogs & possibly over-riders?

The tactile quality of the indicator stalk has just come back to me!

Nice. I used to import Trabbies (5 every fortnight) back in the day -if it was registered at Brighton VRO -its prob one of mine. Used to commute around the south too.

They are splendid little cars arent they. Well done -nice pair

wow trabant awesome, golf looks tidy too 8)

trabant is definitely the way forward during our era of modern facism - I would love one but would prefer the later model with the polo engine - I like the idea of the 2 stroke but my brown rice chomping neighbours would give me grief!

love the standard Cabbie - I have NEVA understood the scene's obsession with LOWERIN and DEBADJING etc....I mean I am sure the engineers in Wolfsburg in the 70's had a MUCH better idea of decent suspension systems than my mate's mate Dave who lives down by the canal and RADSGLOFZ....original for me every time and in such they are great cars

welcome aboard sir!

Hey! Been reading your posts on the IFA forum, green Trabbies are supposed to be lucky :)

Mine is for sale at the mo, X1/9 has taken its place in the garage. 87.6% finished.

Thanks for your kind replies and affirming my Trabi is indeed 'Sh*te'! The DeLuxe in 1986 had electronic ignition, an LED econometer gauge on the dash, a fancy gearshift knob, chrome bumpers with overriders, white roof, chrome wipers, intermitent wipers, radio, aerial, 2 mirrrors, powered screen washers, dash mounted 'pocket' watch clock, and leather feel seats not cloth....! This is my second Trabi. I told the wife it would be cheaper to commute in than my Seat Alhambra....My recession beater!! The Golf and the Trabi are £105 insurance for both with Footman James on a multi car policy!

Welcome from another north-westerner, although I should probably add "ex-" as I have no intention of ever returning. Commuting in a Trabby? Hero!
