A. This disgusting turd of a vehicle.

Which I have just "won" in an internet auction.

As you can see, it was the detailed and forthright write-up of the cars condition, plus illustrative photo set that really sold it to me.

Now lets see what the comedians of SHITLY want to fetch it for me...

That listing sure leaves no question unanswered....

Good luck!

Newton-le-Willows is just on the edges of Warrington and Liverpool (vast approximation).

However, Shiply may come up good, as it's right in the heart of the North West motorway network, so GR10 4 backloads.

Posted

LOL I was weighing that up earlier today.

Newton le Willows is sort of St Helens/Warrington way iirc.

At that price how bad could it be?

Posted

I had one eye on it too!! Nice one, looks like it could be a bargain at that price.

A stick!

Sorry, thats not the right punchline is it. GR8 8UY! Is the number plate "TED"?

Posted

Looks like a good buy ... the seller really put a lot of effort in to the ad

M6, J23. Should have no trouble at all arranging transport. It very likely IS registered "TED" as "ED" is a Warrington combination. Well done Pog.

When one of three pictures of a car auction is the handbook, you're probably in trouble. It actually looks quite nice though, hope it's a winner!

All-aggro in "knitting-needle-in-bag-of-marbles" Maxi joke gearbox shocka!

Hey Pog make sure Harold Shipman recovery have a spec lift on their truck for this little 'beauty' which is in Warrington...

The seller 'isn't sure how many Allegro Equipes were made'. I'm not sure how many Equipes were even made in 1973 but I believe it will be absolutely fucking none.

Still, if you raid the loft for serial killer memorabilia you can swap with him.

LOZL! I reckon you should A-frame this home behind UR renner kangoo

Austin Allegro for sale, bought by my dad in reasonable condition any questions answered

My question to be answered would be whether it was the father or the Allagro that was in reasonable condition...

Good work all the same Pogmeister :D

Yeah, new in 1978.

Hope its okay. If its not just pay Shipley again and get them to drop it off back at their house.

Nice buy. :D

Is that a decent spec All-aggro? That black panel on the bootlid seems to suggest that it is. :)

Agreed. A Lynn Faulds-Wood style investigation would lead me to believe that it might be a 'HL' model, the clues being:

vinyl roof,

black rear panel,

side moulding.

Has it got sumptuous velour seating aswell?

Posted

I think it's a 'Special' model. That would explain the 'Spec' title in the eBay ad?

I'm sure they did a model called the 'Special'... :?

Posted

I have a 1500 special.. As far as I can see only the Vinyl roof and black edge to the boot lid make it at all special.

IIRC all E series models have the 5 speed boxes, and go very well indeed!
