No, its a 1.6 "K" . I like the K series..

Me too, the "K" is quite gruff like a proper engine, and very economical. Shame about its propensity to... etc.

Mostly down to the owners and poor maintenence IMO- they don't hold much water, and like to leak. Inlet manifolds, thermostat housings and water pumps. when they do drop some water, they heat quickly and the temp guage is useless on them. Once that happens the engines are toast. Keep em topped up, with the proper OAT anti freeze,changed every 2 years, and they will happily do 150k+ on the original gasket. Great design!

 

saying that, I've owned and looked after lots of 200's 400's 25's and 45's and the later ones are much WORSE. This little 45 has needed 2 upper arms, 2 bottom balljoints, wiper motor,drivers window motor,exhaust,CV joint,a full service and full brake overhaul and a rear bush since buying a month ago. My fault for buying in a hurry late at night..Bloody dear to insure too, more than my W124 Merc My other older Rovers have needed nothing, ever.
