The 2CV 24hr race is indeed the weekend after this shitefest.  Ergo the right thing to do is go to shitefest, take a few days holiday farting around Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, wiltshire, west berkshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Cambidgeshire, Suffolk and Norfolk, and arrive on Thursday evening for the 2CV 24hr race.

If you turn up late on Thursday evening, there is generally no-one on the gate, so you can just drive in for free.  Paddock camping (or even spectator area camping) is free, there's some 4/10 showers and half-decent facilities plus a very decent cafe, and as long as you have everything you need for the weekend, "once you're in, you're in".

Which is exactly what I am planning.  Albeit with a diversion to RaceHQ to pick up a trailer of equipment, tools, spares etc. for the weekend.

We are definitely aiming for Friday/Saturday overnight, likely home on the Sunday.

We have lieu day requests in for the Thursday to maybe break the journey and have a Thursday night somewhere and maybe do the same on the way home.
