It takes me 1 ½ hrs just to get to the motorway. Show off

I get more of a kick doing the far away ones because I go up with Phill and Dan, we have our walkie talkies for banter and we stop for plenty of food/photos. We skip motorways and plan more scenic routes and make it a journey instead of just travelling 😁 twosmoke300, Coprolalia, auntiemaryscanary and 3 others 4 2

cms206 Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Bugger, think that's one of the wife's weekends on - if we can firm up a date and herself can get the time off to let me do it I'm sure an 1100mile round trip in 3 days at 30mpg would be doable. fatharris, catsinthewelder, twosmoke300 and 3 others 6

kirton Posted March 6 Posted March 6 the proposed weekend is in school summer holidays, just the kind of time to enjoy* the experiences offered by the M5 and A30, pretty well guaranteed crashes causing long delays both down and back (on top of nose to tail traffic anyway) I saw Hairnet's suggestion of flying to Exeter - Newqay is closer but both have HFM fares, pretty well matched by the trains

Mr Livered Posted March 18 Posted March 18 I'd love to come but can't commit: it's my son's 21st birthday weekend so need to be available, but he might be abroad for it in which case I'll be straight down the A30 to Kernow
Mally Posted March 18 Posted March 18 I have looked at this. Purely because my Lady friend has never slept in a tent. I have a tent, which last appeared at the Bubble Car Museum. But at 6 hours each way it's not happening. I used to holiday in Cornwall and I know how long a 6 hour* journey takes. KruJoe 1
