In an era of dynamo charging systems you'd want to avoid headlight usage if possible, especially where streetlights are doing most of the work anyway.

I think it was fairly common practice prior to the 70s.

It’s been a bit of a funny year at the RC residence, but this forum helps me retain my sanity. I can’t say there’s anyone here that I wouldn’t want to be here, I’m not always posting but I’m frequently trawling through the threads and enjoying the content that’s posted. Thanks for everything you’ve contributed this year.

I hope 2026 brings us all cheap examples of fucked motors that we absolutely shouldn’t buy but will do all the same.
