Popular Post calebaaront Posted September 6 Author Popular Post Posted September 6 Sorry for not many updates, it’s now in my garage. Was lovely meeting you again @2110. I’ve bought back my 1991 Peugeot 205! I always regretted selling this but luckily Tom has given me opportunity to buy it back and I couldn’t say no! It’s needs a bit of tinkering but I’m happy to have it back Supernaut, Erebus, 500tops and 52 others 42 1 12
2110 Posted September 6 Posted September 6 I'm so happy it's made it's way back to you, I know you will enjoying this for a long time ahead now! Great to catch up with you today and you certainly seemed to enjoy a few of the "toys" parked up in my unit 😄 Looking forward to see it back on the road again soon 😁 calebaaront 1
jon.k Posted September 7 Posted September 7 What a beauty. Supernaut, N Dentressangle, djim and 2 others 1 4
calebaaront Posted September 7 Author Posted September 7 Had a bit of time to work on it today, managed to get it to idle and run without any choke. Still a bit smokey but I reckon it should clear itself out with a good run. Just some MOT prep to do. Matty and JMotor 2

I’m not too clued up on these if I’m honest. @Weird Car used to own a GR, not sure what options it had though. Joey spud 1

My GL has a single ashtray, radio cassette. Passenger sun visor mirror, clock (no tachometer). I’m sure it’s got other options, if I’m honest I’m not sure what the option list was. I’ve got the brochure in my garage I’m sure that’ll have an option list in it
Joey spud Posted September 7 Posted September 7 From my days working at a Peugeot dealer in the late 80's GR was the top trim spec. mk2_craig and calebaaront 2
Weird Car Posted September 7 Posted September 7 GR was indeed higher spec than GL It got such options as a 1.4 ltr engine Removable and tilting sunroof 2 door mirrors Dash clock Door protecting rubber trims Rear ashtrays Full length centre console Glovebox lid with lock Internal mirror adjusters Sweep option on the wipers And a 5 speed manual gearbox as standard At least this is what mine had which was a top spec phase 1 GR calebaaront 1

mk2_craig Posted September 8 Posted September 8 Sid and Doris who used to live over the road from my parents both bought themselves a 205 shortly after they came out (I think one red and the other blue) - probably retirement presents to each other. I am almost certain that these were the GE model and according to the Jersey vehicle register extract that is released quarterly on the open data website, there is still one red 205 GE (954cc and registered April 1985) on the system. calebaaront and Dick Cheeseburger 2
Macscrooge Posted September 8 Posted September 8 My dad had two 205 XLD (not at the same time…) - as has already been said, X = 3 doors, G = 5 back in 1985, GT was an impossible dream, GR was posh velour etc, GL was tolerable. I did once drive a GE - bereft of the luxuries to which I was accustomed. You know, things like a second door mirror, a rear wiper etc. calebaaront 1
