If you were a car, the car that is like you

If you were a car what would you be? Rules must have been made when you were born and like you.

Me.

Ford Orion 1.8D slow not very refined and not pretty to look at. And the Orion has been worked for years on double shifts as a taxi and is tired and a bit broken but is surprisingly still going just like me.

I'd be an AC/Thundersley Invacar.

Old, impractical, with an oversized rear end but a very long tiller.

Vauxhall PA Cresta, obviously; they definitely made them in 1959 so that's a good start.  A degree of style, with American influences; maybe not as fast or as strong as one might think but absolutely built for comfort.  Yeah, I'll take that.

Over-sized, a bit square and going round in circles...

Popular with yummy-mummy though.

You're younger than I thought.

Dated from new, ageing like fine milk, generally undesirable, a shambling indicator of the decline of it's country of origin.

But enough about me, I'd be the Austin pictured.

Pretends to be much cooler than it really is, likes a drink, is a bit slow and is partially funded by selling cocaine.

Thirsty - actually hmm could do with a tea.

Capacious appetite.

Care worn.

A bit too white in places.

Not quite the shape I thought I’d turn out.

Pretty reliable.

My dad likes me (he is in the passenger seat). At least..

Maybe a Triumph Acclaim or Rover 200 series. Unremarkable but dependable and efficient.

I would probably be a Cortina 1300 Deluxe on a late G registration. Resiliant, reliable, reasonably good at most things but not outstanding at anything, a good allrounder.

I would like to think that I am a 1600E but whilst I try to look smart, I am not a sharp suited model or superstar. If I was this good looking life could have been much easier.

Does everything you need it to do but without any style, attractiveness or flair.

Enormous with a face only a mother could love but surprisingly practical. Affordable to acquire but quite expensive to run. Also a difficult to spell name (as anyone who has ever tried to pay me will confirm!)

Dependable, reliable, but plain looking, slightly saggy and generally unremarkable.

But will do anything and everything you need it to do in that unremarkable way.

Doesn't really fit in. Slow. Doors not on the correct side for UK so not accessible. Many have tried to break it but it keeps going

Citroen ZX Volcane. The diesel one.

Can be a bit reluctant to get going first thing in the morning. Will drink anything. Stinks of chip fat. Rarely visits London these days because it's too expensive.

Technically competent.  Does a lot with very little. Looks a bit weird. Perfectly easy to live with providing you respect its limitations.

Outdated by '79, belonging to an earlier era.  Total lack of emissions control, and a cavalier attitude to health and safety.

Somewhat lacking in the 0-60 dash, yet hard to stop once going!  Noisy, but well padded... poor night vision, and with rust setting in under the outer skin.  Pervading smell of two-stroke.

On the plus side, very simple and low-maintenance!
