Just got home from a very enjoyable day - nice to meet a few Shiters for the first time and spend some time chatting old vehicles and other assorted bollocks, many thanks to @chaseracer for organising.  Breakfast was excellent too.

Thanks to @chaseracer for organising and all the best to @Inspector Morose for the move.

Great to see you all and thanks to everyone who helped me open the boot of the hearse.

28.9 mpg is a lot better mpg than the 22 mpg I usually get locally with the the V70 T5. A nice clean run up with a lot of Motorway is the difference.

Here are a few of my photos from today.

Well, seeing as the RAC could still be another 4 hours away apparently… let’s share some pics.

Up until the first breakdown it had been a cracking day! Really good to see folk, their cars, and a truckers brekkie!

Not forgetting the true star of the show

IMG_8514.thumb.jpeg.9276405a311cb3ad7797ae659d35b4eb.jpeg

On the way back I stopped for a coffee. Upon rejoining the A41 it wasn’t long until a familiar sight loomed in the rear view..

IMG_8518.thumb.jpeg.df98c3b21bc0c2eee87b70008df41079.jpeg

This turned out to be reassuring a little later when this happened..

IMG_8519.thumb.jpeg.468f6d1622d5e056f2e10267b0916fec.jpeg

And @Sunny Jim was good enough to stop and check what was up.

As it is, the spark plug keeps popping out. It’s done it so many times now I’ve given ip and await the RAC… but that may be me being frazzled!

ETA 9.30-12.30

Should have switched to AutoAid like I planned.

Oh dear.  Anyone nearby who could lend a hand/some shelter with a heater until the RAC eventually turn up?

The big orange taxi returned me home around 10.30!

Thankfully as I was only 15 miles from home Mrs_b came out with a bigger coat, some tools and the offer of a Maccies tea. That sustained me until the RAC arrived around 9.15pm. So only the 4 hours waiting!

Bollox, sad I missed this. Old Rover was booked in for an MOT.

Would have been lovely to catch up with some old mates

Crikey, 4 hours. Have you signed up to the 'superfastexpressresponse' service there, Alex ?
