Sorry Also, pop and bang maps here. They’re usually on something completely awful anyway, so I tend to pity them instead. Though I do remember minding my own business eating my dinner in McDonalds car park in my Saxo VTS for some lad to pull up next to me revving fuck out of his Clio, winds down the window and goes to me ‘1.2 none turbo’. I go ‘yeah no shit mate’ and wind the window up. Apparently that offended him as he then tried to race the 126bhp hot hatch in his 1.2 none turbo when I left McDonalds? People are odd. reb Posted July 25 Posted July 25 The idea of a 1.2 non turbo being something to be impressed about is very funny to me. When I had my first volvo I had colleagues ask how big the engine was, when I said 2.5 they'd witter on about how they can only insure a 1.2 and it must use so much fuel and oh is it fast. Strangely they never appreciated being a passenger while I demonstrated how fast it was. Something about being a lunatic? It wasn't even that fast.
barefoot Posted July 25 Posted July 25 9 hours ago, Erebus said: Sticker bomb? As shown here on pineapple spec Dub: That's a really poor example of spectacularly crap, amateur sticker bomb. Without being too technical, it's not even been done on a window, so there are no interior stickers at all. It also looks like all the stickers were bought at the same time in a job lot and applied in one go with some attempt at artistry. Three '76' fuel stickers? Real sticker bomb can look much the same to the casual observer, but on careful examination, has clearly been built up by the 'bombesteer' over many, many years with some superb, rare and even occasionally valuable stickers partially obscured by more recent, shit examples stuck over the top. True sticker bomb not only includes, but makes a point of utterly crass application and can never be faked. wuvvum, grogee and RichardK 2 1

I think he was trying to get some sort of reaction from me and I wasn’t biting, I was hungry and I’d just come off a 16 hour shift, and I was back on shift again in less than 7 hours, I just wanted to eat and go to bed. I miss that Saxo VTS though. I wish I still had it.

Lol, for some reason that reminded me of one day when I was driving Mother_Sterling's K11 Micra down a bypass towards Halesowen. Some crackhead looking lad was trying to race me in his Renault Clio and some how I just kept myself in front of him. He really didn't like a K11 beating his Clio and was mouthing some shit to himself but in my general direction.
reb Posted July 26 Posted July 26 One day when I was using dad's 20v 850 for work I was driving sedately towards the inner ring road (they never finished it, so it's actually two disconnected sections of dual carriageway) and some nonce spec corsa came flying down the hill over the 40 limit behind me. As we went round the roundabout to join the main road I could tell he was going to try and overtake me. I felt like proving a point, so I booted it and fucked off up the road, leaving him overtaking thin air. When I got to my delivery address the pizzas were nowhere to be seen... the leather seats were slippery and apparently my roundabout exit had flung the hot bag onto the floor at the opposite side of the car. I did the honourable thing and delivered them without checking if they had been mangled. eddyramrod and AnnoyingPentium 2

As shown here on pineapple spec Dub: I've been investigating the feasibility of wrapping the MX5 rather than painting it and was looking at a number of material supplier's websites and there is a range of that shit. If I can find a gloss colour match close to neo green, which is mazda's version of BRG (but not close enough), then it's definately cheaper than painting, but printed sticker bomb wrap? It a sad thing. If you had collected 500 stickers over the years, then by all means cover your single front wing in it, but don't buy pre printed "stickers" cause they will look shite. I was going to add that carbon wrap should be illegal, but then thought, nah, the great thing about that is that it will cover up minor surface blemishes because of the 3d effect with the lighting. Plus I've bought a sample to cover some scratches on the interior of my astra. 🙈🙉🙊 My problem with fake wood, fake carbon fibre, fake leather, fake marble, is that unless you are making a film set on the cheap, it really goes against the designers rule of form follows function. As an aside, there's a whole range designed for kitchen cupboards and worktops.

The fake wood in my dead 850 is quite good tbh. Remember part of the function of a car is to make you feel a certain way driving it. The "wood" adds to the feeling that in some important way, you've made it. grogee 1

EyesWeldedShut Posted July 26 Posted July 26 This should really be on one of the cars out front but, instead, it's on an HP Notebook that is nicknamed The Frisbee due to the frequency it goes flying off desks, tables and laps. Dented to blazes, shite battery but keeps on going - like the cars.....
