The Canta is the Dutch equivalent of the Invacar, all differently set up for the conditions of their owners, powered by a tiny engine and able to use certain pathways that normal cars can't.

Chained up, I'd imagine they're easy to steal.

I've seen this little thing with various badges in various places, I reckon there's a factory in China knocking out loads, I don't know what this is called but I think the numberplate says it all.

There's a Zeekr showroom in the middle of Amsterdam so I went in for a look, this is the 001.

The interior feels very good quality but I felt like I was sitting and low at the same time. Whether this is crossover related or to do with the battery in the floor I don't know.

This is the Zeekr 009, it was all locked up so I couldn't get inside it.

I found the Nio showroom late at night so had to go back for a look. I think the ET5 looks great, its about the size of a 3series touring and has hints of XF Sportbrake and whilst the quality seems good, its tiny inside.

That's all the German and Dutch street pictures done, here's the show pictures.

I'm organising these by country starting with France.

I'd read that one of the SM's issues was the Maseratti engine not really getting on with the Citroen's suspension plumbing as the Italians didn't design for it as they apparently hadn't been told the car would have such a system.

Looking under the bonnet of this it does seem that the shaft driving the suspension system is geared out of the V, and to be honest, looks like a bit of an add-on.

Oh I’d recommend everyone goes, it’s choc full of stuff you just don’t see in this country.

I think I took about 400 photos on the day plus cars I saw on the streets at the time.

I’ll add some travel info  after I’ve done all the pictures.

I’ve also decided that I’m going to retromobile in Paris next year.

It wasn't really my intent to go to Germany and see British cars but it happened.

Once I've put all these up, then do the Italians and the Germans last.

When did thes ebecome so much money? In my head, this is a £5k car.

And this had been painted by Stevie Wonder, then washed with a house brick. The brightwork was pitted and dented, the carpets were mouldy, the wood had dried up and the hood was very tatty. It had a big dent on the passsenger side rear wing but the seats had been re-upholstered...
