RoverFolkUs Posted October 15, 2023 Posted October 15, 2023 Looks like they've got another flash sale going on.. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303139536604? ^ that stuff is what I'd be using in most modern N/A petrols that aren't fussy about oil (e.g no wet belt or timing chain) - £45.49, with a 20% coupon "FIXUP20" which works out at £36.39 delivered for 20 litres!! They also have VW longlife 504/507 5w-30 if you have a fussy modern: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303124417772? Which is £55.49, working out at £44.39 delivered, again for 20 litres! They also seem to have various specs of 0w-20, 5w-20, 0w-30 which seem less bargainous but still very cheap. I'll be putting an order through for the workshop tomorrow. Bear in mind trade prices we usually pay between £59.99-69.99 + VAT for 20L on the 5w-30 stock, so it's pretty much half the price. Other oils are ordered as required so I'll have to do some sussing to see if there's much saving to be made putting a bulk order through with this offer... Ronkey, Cavcraft, Rave and 17 others 5 15
jonathan_dyane Posted October 15, 2023 Posted October 15, 2023 Fantastic, just got 20 litres of 10w40 for the 406 for £33.19 👍
NorthernMonkey Posted October 15, 2023 Posted October 15, 2023 Just ordered 60lts of 5w30 C3 for £130 inc VAT so about £105 once the VATs claimed back. That’ll do 👍👍 Cavcraft and UltraWomble 2
Popsicle Posted October 15, 2023 Posted October 15, 2023 Ffs I only ordered 20 litres last month, just had to order another tub as I can't resist a bargain....

Will that be okay in a 1.4T (140 bhp) astra GTC ?

New POD Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 For Europe. Manual says Dexos 2 any of : 0w-30, 0w-40, 5w-30, 5w-40 Outside Europe its more interesting. I assume they can't get dexos 2 I'm thinking I'm not stupid enough to think that all oil is the same but I can't see why if the None European spec for my engine is met by both oiks you've posted, the only reason for the GM only spec for Europe is one of profiteering ?
beko1987 Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 I wish I had space to store those big drums. Equally aren't they a twat to pour into the engine from? 😂 £18/£20 plus a filter once a year is still good value though
Schaefft Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Looks like they have the same kind of discounts on ATF/hydraulic oils. Thanks for sharing. I just spent 70 quid on 10l of LiquiMoly engine oil the other day...

Saabnut Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Thanks for the heads up, I needed more oil in stock. Of course, what I really needed was 120l in stock, so that is what I have ordered! Should last me a year or so.... egg 1

egg Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Wots the difference pls between energy and energy premium which I've bought from these guys before?
beko1987 Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 I put the energy premium in the Xsara 2 weeks ago and gained 87 horsepower* I didn't even know they did different types, I just put 5w30 in and sort low to high and the 5l bottles of whatever are usually near the top egg 1
sierraman Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Boughted. I make that something like £9 per oil change for me, an OE filter brings it to £16 a change.
cort1977 Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Thanks for that, should keep my ungrateful twat of a VW happy.
EyesWeldedShut Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 If you're as tight as a duck's arse ( like me) - possibly get a further 5% cashback - https://www.topcashback.co.uk/ebay/
EyesWeldedShut Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 12th Aug I paid £30.59 for 10 litres of 5w30 from the same seller - today £33 (after cashback) for 20 litres Happy days. Thanks for the heads up.
320touring Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Cheers for flagging. Oil for the Clio and Oxford bought, plus some for @jaypee's galaxy. jaypee 1
primeradoner Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Thanks for the heads up . Ive got less than 3L left in my existing tub so ordered another

I cannot see much - there's a slightly different description but other than one using 'esters' in it - got me puzzled. 7908 matches Bini LL-04 which we should be using but 7511 matches the PSA Spec for the same engine/CAT/DPF. I've been using 7511 since 2018/19 in the Bini and, so far, it's not blown up https://www.mannol.de/products/synthetic-engine-oils/mannol-energy-5w-30 = 7511 https://www.mannol.de/products/motor-oils-for-cars-and-transporters/synthetic-engine-oils/mannol-energy-premium-5w-30 = 7908 Screengrabbed the two listings 18 hours ago, gm said: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/115477451919?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=ogZKjYmqTwa&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=LKn5X0MqTxu&var=415756783611&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY you can buy a tap then just borrow the measuring jug from your kitchen 500ml plastic coke bottles are robust enough to carry a top up in the boot - I use these for measuring oil in - wider spout and bigger than coke bottles - still needs a funnel, steady hand and a non-windy day egg 1
JJ0063 Posted October 17, 2023 Posted October 17, 2023 This Mannol stuff is such good value for money. I’ve used the 5l burgundy bottles for a couple of years now and always thought that was incredible value for money. Think I’ll invest in one of these huge ones now! Just need to work out what one I need to suit the Fiesta 1.4 TDCI and the van being the 1.9 84ps PD. Hopefully they’ll take the same! Cheers OP!

Was minging after a few years of rolling around in the boot but the PERFECT size and the top wedged itself mega well into the filler neck 👌
Wgl2019 Posted October 17, 2023 Posted October 17, 2023 Garage stock topped up. Makes an oil and filter change on the Up! about £12 (with a decent VW/ Mann filter too 😉). egg 1
