I saw that RX4 at Japfest last year and although it is a good looking car it needs chrome not black bumpers, and wheels a bit more sympathetic to it's rarity.

Posted

RX-4 definitely needs a bit more standardisation. It's a delicate, rare Japanese coupe from the 70s not a friggin' American muscle car.

Escort rally car - clutching at straws, jumping on the bandwagon or just a bit cheaper way in!! How much stronger would the 2-door shell be? Datsun rallied 4-door Violets didn't they?

The old giffer repair to the rusty door bottoms is criminal.

100% useless if you live near a tip, as a discarded fag paper would cause the front bumper to be ripped off and cause seventeen thousand quid's worth of improvements.

Early V6 Sierra Ghia.

Beat me to it, but PHWOAAAARRRRR. I would. And I'd spend every waking minute in it. Apart from toilet breaks of course. But I'm well practiced at waiting 4 1/2 hours, so I could do a good long stint of Sierra squatting.

Orion Ghia i, in gangster black. Plenty of T+T, but the vendor says...

...car wont be available for collection, until replacement front hub is fitted, due to wheel bolt stripping threads, just want car to be safe, hopefully done by,tue, wed, thanks.

Honesty? No, I rather think the vendor needs a few more days to erase all traces of the car's murky past as the getaway motor, in an illegal heron smuggling operation. Dyslexic drug dealers, eh? Whaddaya gonna do with them...

Pug 106 XLD, which is doing my fucking box in. I'm really struggling to understand the mentality behind this. I clicked on it, thinking it was just the kind of thing that should be on our shopping list: if it's cheap with T+T, then we could 'undo' the 'mods', and have a practical little runabout. Then this...

Upgraded balljoint pinch bolts.

How the holy, motherloving fuck does one even do that? Colour coded? LED's? Signed by Jean Todt himself? A balljoint pinch bolt, is a balljoint pinch bolt. Unless you buy it from B+Q, possibly. In which case it's an accident waiting to happen. But it gets better...

The reserve is £1000 this car is worth alot more i have spend £600 on it in the last 2 week's so it's a cheap car at that price the winning bidder will be so happy with this car at that price alot for your money.

the car has been to the french car show for the last 5 years been used for show's look's the part but still cheap to run.

A GRAND? I don't give a flying fuck if it is gold plated, and stuffed to the rafters with programmable lesbian pleasurebots (and enough batteries to keep them going for a decade)...A GRAND? I could buy an actual 106 GTi for that. I am actually lost for words.

Then I found this. There's no point posting a pic - it's only a cheap Yaris - but the ad! Between Pug Prat, and Toyota Tosser, I think I'm heading to the auctions - they're more honest.

OK, time for a pick-me-up. Crack open a bottle of Innes + Gunn's Rum Finished Beer, and into the 'classics' section...

944, which has just ruined my calm contemplation of all things 'classic'.

PORSCHE 944, WAS GOING TO TURN INTO DAY CAR FOR RACING BUT WENT WITH A FOCUS INSTEAD.

Day car? Day care more like.

Buggered Granny, which is making me think I should quit eBay for tonight, 'cos it has gone horribly wrong, and instead get spectacularly drunk and buy the Dunfermline Press and Scot-Ads tomorrow, for more quality Sid'n'Doris type car ads.

I'm so glad I don't have more money than sense because if I did right now I'd be running over to the buyer with a trailer, a pile of money and asking where I could buy shares in welding wire and purple paint. I knew there was a reason why I'm not rich; purple Morris Marina basket cases.

Hmm, I was about to say that Marina would be worth buying for £500 for tthe panels alone, but then I saw

My mate has all the panels you need to repair this car and these will ONLY be available to the winning bidder of this car. They ARE NOT INCLUDED in this auction price and are only available at an extra cost of £1100 to the winning bidder upon collection of the car.

But at least

They will not be sold seperately without you taking the car, so don't ask. He has other marinas so will keep these rare panels.

they are trying to keep a few of the old dogs alive. Fair play.

I PROPER have the horn for this, its been through the bay a couple of times, once at 800 and once at 700, and no-one's bid yet. Now its £550. I rang the lad up last night and he seems proper sound and genuine, and the car has a good honest look to it as well. I have more than enough projects to keep me going past retirement, but I cant get this outta my head, it looks class in a glass, got to love the single-headlamp basicness of it too.

Doesn't seem to bad that, Bol. He's not owned it long but does seem to have purchased a fuel pump for it so it's not having to be started froma pez can.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120855889860

I suppose the only (possible) concern is that has he bought it and realised it needs shit loads of work. Still, for the money it's difficult to see how you could go wrong at that sort of money.

Just off the top of my head:

Two doors to many?

Engine too small?

Wheels too small?

The spotlights are too small as well,& there's not enough of them

This thing looks terrible, it says 'LOSER' in the same way as those MR2-based ferrari reps with loads of prancing horses stuck everywhere, 'I MUST HAVE A ROTHMANS RALLY REP AT ALL COSTS! (BUT NOT THE COST OF A 2-DR ESCORT TO START FROM, AS THAT IS BEYOND ME)'.

Supposedly, the 4doors are stronger. Something to do with more compound curves in the body shell.

Or something.
