In my quest for something silly, big, V8 with leather, autobox, towbar and aircon, I've just chucked a bid at this. Just the one, mind, and I'm not holding my breath, but hey. 325,000 miles and a 5.6 V8.. It's only 280 miles from home as well. I sense mucho expense.. I had a 500 SEL and that used to average 11 mpg. This will be worse..

How much does a Mk2 Cavalier weigh? The Isuzu TD in my Astra estate is pretty gutless, but I imagine it weighs a bit more more than the Cavalier.

I thought so too. I had an N reg AX years ago, probably same as that as it was a 1.5D and I'm sure it had a plastic bonnet.

AX had a plastic tailgate,it was the BX with the plastic bonnet.Mind you,the metal on the AX bonnet was very flimsy

I'm fancying an AX now. eBay has pulled up identical to my old one that must have been registered at the same time and at the same dealership as the reg number is almost the same... mine was N630 DFV, this one is thirteen numbers earlier. Maybe its a sign.
