That Visa has the most amazing interior.*

* Poor choice of words. It's no Lancia Trevi, but nice nonetheless.

^ Lovely! I'd be lobbing a bid on that if I had the money... and space, oh and if I wanted it more than I actually do. It would also help if it were a bit closer. That said in different circumstances I would consider that vehicle, if it was black.

I've got the full set of these also, my folks bought em back in late seventies early eighties. Never get tired of reading em. SOme fantastic 'road tests' in the later editions. Mine arn't bound but I pulled em out of the loft the other week with intention of scanning some of the fantastic articles.. Enjoy

/\ makes me even sadder that I didn't bid a spot more for them, Im up that way to collect to some stock steels for the Prelude Saturday 19th. I'd even emailed the seller to make sure I was ok to collect in a weeks time... Bugger.

KruJoe - If you need them collecting I can do that on the afternoon of the 19th

Sturmey-Archer engine FTW! There was one of these at Stondon - this one looks in better nick though.

The back is certainly the same as a Chevy Chevette:

I'd imagine B_LLLoXX is currently busy persuading himself that he can't possibly buy it. Which is WRONG.

What's that you say? A 2006 Range Rover?

$(KGrHqYOKiYE1fKJ3kFKBNcLwMrkvw~~_12.JPG

A price tag of £8k on the screen?

Something's not right here...

Oh hang on, its a badly fitted lash up of later model parts attached to a 16 year old p38.

$(KGrHqEOKpIE1qn127P1BNcLwVFEmQ~~_12.JPG

ALL GENUINE PARTS USED , NO CHEAP FIBREGLASS PARTS

Well that sounds promising...

WIDE ARCH CONVERSION
22" ALLOY WHEELS
PAINTED IN AUDI IBIS WHITE

You're a liar as well then.

£7995 is starting to look rather steep.

REQUIRES FEW ITEMS TO FINISH

NEEDS ONE INTERIOR DOOR PANEL

NEEDS HEADLIGHTS WIRING CONNECTING

Doesn't sound like much, is that why you've put it on ebay for £1650?

Oh, wait.

NEEDS MOT
WE DON'T THINK IT WILL NEED MUCH FOR MOT.

Why not MoT it then?

YOU WILL NOT FIND ANOTHER CONVERSION TO THIS STANDARD

Sadly, ill-conceived poorly-executed attempts to bling up middle-aged Range Rovers are all to common.

You've ruined that car, you cunt.

It's ok, they're not exactly what we normally find in this thread!

/\ makes me even sadder that I didn't bid a spot more for them, I'd even emailed the seller to make sure I was ok to collect in a weeks time... Bugger.

My top bid was £15.15, so I'm glad it was only a fiver!

KruJoe - If you need them collecting I can do that on the afternoon of the 19th

That's very kind...

Well, I emailed the seller:

Dear howarde2007,

Hi, I won the auction for the ON THE ROAD volumes. It may be a little while before I can make it over from Settle to collect them, but I will sort it out. I'm working seven days just now. I'd like to send you payment before then, plus a bit extra for your time... is £10 ok? I can send it by paypal (but they will take their cut) or if you give me some numbers I can send it direct from my bank account online. Many thanks - Joe

He replied:

Hello Joe

Don't worry, there's no big rush. Just pay me cash when you come and collect. My number is 01609 7xxxx5, so just ring me when you want/are able to come over. I'm about most days, as early retired!

Best wishes

Howard

So, mr4door, if you have a tenner lying about, and fancy being custodian of these until our paths eventually cross, then I'll pm you the rest of his number, and I'll email and tell him a mate is collecting them for me. That is on the understanding I'll have them from you at some point for £10.

Does that make sense?

Rightio MrJoe.

I think that sounds like a plan. Ive got his phone-number so if you want to let him know I'll collect on the afternoon/evening of the 19th and I'll take it from there

Im sure I can get them over to you at some point. Are you coming to Cholmondeley Castle? If not, I might be an excuse for an impromtu AutoShite Dales meet 8)

Cool beans! I've emailed him with that. I didn't tell him you were the second bidder! I'll work on keeping that Sunday free for Cholmondeley Warner, but I'll keep these in mind if not. :)

Honda Accord seller can't be trusted, he purchased the car in December 10 for £310 with a steering fault, not 2009 which is when the previous owner bought it.

That's right. He's just lifted the work done list off the other ad. It's a real shame this car is going this way. Despite the denial about the condition (odd thing to do when selling a car) and the abuse I got last time round from the other seller, it really was in mint condition.

Lukas' comments on his own spotting thread about the Charade saloon reminded me of the Mazda 121 of the early 90s:
