The first two Tercel-generations had a very rare layout, a longitudinal mounted engine with FWD. Audi did and does that too, but any other car-maker?

Renault 21.

1.7 models were transverse, others were longitudal.

Do I win a prize?

SAAB?

Citroen DS. I'm on a roll.

I dread to think what will be advertised on it. La Femme Escort Services probably.

FrWD Subarus, and loads of Renaults (4,5,12, etc.). I think most early FWD cars had longitudinal engines.

That FWD 60s dodge muscle car wth the name that sounded like Tornado, bet that would have had a north-south layout.

Lovely, an early Sierra Ghia. These are stunning. Think I'll have a bid.

THIS IS A FORD SIERRA 2.3 GHIA AUTOMATIC WHICH I WILL BE BREAKING TO MAKE A KIT CAR.

Oh dear. How much will you be-

I WILL BE REMOVING ENGINE, AUTO BOX, PROP SHAFT, FRONT SUSPENSION, REAR AXLE COMPLETE, EXHAUST, SERVO AND STEERING SHAFT.

Right.

JUST GIVE BAZ A RING

No, I'm good.

THIS SHELL WILL HAVE NO V5 OR ID AS I WILL NEED THESE

Great, hope you enjoy your "Jago" or whatever it is.

This Allegro has a pitifully small mileage.

Perhaps unsurprising, given that Shittish Leyland decided that these should come with the option of 998cc-a-series. Dreadful.

I had a 1-litre Allegro once. It really was as dire as you would expect it to be. It would just about manage 70, and the engine was doing about 5,000rpm at that speed. And despite being the newest of the three Aggros I've owned, it was the worst-handling of any of them.

Posted

That Allegro is hot stuff!

But yeah I can imagine in 1litre form it would be a miserable drive.

FWD longitudinal? Renault Espace Diesel, up to really late!

Posted

Oh that white Audi 100 is lush. What a steal too.

It probably has a longitudinal FWD installation too.... :P

I think that Allegro is the one that was in the classic car auction in Carmarthen last Saturday. It was ok, but not wonderful

IF ANYONE OVER SEAS WOULD LIKE TO BUY IT I WOULD BE PREPAIRED TO DELIVER IT ANYWHERE IN THE UK

??

I think what he means is that he'll deliver it to any port in the UK, or meet anywhere it can be taken overseas, wherever that may be. It makes sense if you read it a couple of times. The first time I read it my reaction was the same as yours.

I would think a price somewhere between £0 and £8.74 would be more appropriate for such a vehicle.
