Is that at a car show of some kind, or parked up in a breakers yard? hard to tell, both from condition and surroundings.

I can just imagine the way that Italy-bound Daf would go;

"hi, there's been an accident. You're van is stuck in Southern France. Best go get it. Bring my stuff too please" etc

1992 Rover Maestro 1300 Avantage

1 Owner from new and a nice colour as well.

Odd - the Advantage was a burgundy special edition with a full MG bodykit and white lattice wheels. I think they did some in British Racing Green too but they're far rarer.

aronline suggests the wheeltrimmed, bodykitless Advantage was european spec but they still got a boot spoier, and the wheel on the wrong side.

Someone found some Advantage decals possibly at the dealer?

I guess it's just stickers as it's listed as a LX on ebay, I have a copy of a old Avantage advert here.

Typical T4 owner... spend hours making a mess of it, throw some chipboard/mdf in the back, cut the springs etc. but ignore the broken mirrors, glovebox etc etc. :roll:

This may just be my addled brain playing tricks on me, but i'm certain i've seen 'Advantage' badged cars (probably maestros) that looked boggo-spec before. Infact i'm pretty sure the only Maestro i've been in was advantage-badged, and that was a crappy low spec white one. So maybe some of the dealers were sticking them on anything?

+1.

The bodykitted dark re/green ones had cream (or white?) lettering to match the wheels, so different stickers to the blue/green on the povo ones... were the latter ''city'' spec?

Yes, less plush interior with fewer toys in the 2-litre. Still a straight-six though.

The back of Cavalier Mk3 saloons look a bit droopy to me. I think it's because the lights are set lower than in the hatchback.

1974 Vauxhall Magnum 1800

This giving me improper thoughts today and it's semi-local, I quite fancy one of these but the talk of resprays, lack of mot and interior work makes me wonder if it isn't as good as it looks in the photos.
