I'm sure that Cortina has been going incrementally up in price for the last 6 months. I'm pretty sure I saw it advertised for £800 a while back.

prestige condition for its age there are ones in worse nick on ebay fetching £2,000 up wards

Oh aye there's plenty of 1.6 Cortina estates with no mot or tax and a borked starter motor selling on ebay for millions.

It might not be the best idea to keep posting that 323 photo, I can hear Binhooker snorting flames from here...:lol:

Damn straight.

I'm well pissed off still. Thing is, if my ex hadn't pulled the carpet from under me so quickly with the transit, I'd have kept the Mazda and be driving it now.

Instead of my bicycle.

Rant over.

PS - it's 'binhOker'.

This looks nice for 700 quid. Short T&T mind you and the advert contains the sentence "will fly through next mot", which is surely the kiss of death.

I'd have this if I could stash it somewhere.

Hmmm. It's a 3-door so the folding front seat frames will probably be borked (or heading that way). Being a 3-door, the rear arches shouldn't be as badly rotten as the 5-door version, but boot floor, body mounts, sills (including A and B pillars) & inner front wings would all need close scrutiny & probably work before its very short MoT expires. That being said, there's 300+ quid in the wheels & tyres alone.

200 TDi engine is the best of the bunch, but why no mileage given?

Disco prices are dropping now that the OMG SNO KAOS failed to materialise, so it's not necessarily a great bargain if it needs extensive welding. Still, maybe worth a look if you're local.

Not keen on the chequer plate either. Plus, that should be a 300Tdi at that age. Has all the 300Tdi body mods and change over was on the L plate.

Why does all the interesting stuff recently seem to be in Scotland?

Trig, if it was the far side of your street you'd consider it "too much of a hike"!

Yes, that's true. Change-over was late `93, I've a mate with an early 300 TDi on an 'L' reg.

Because the Scottish members are the ones doing the trawling at the moment?

JOHN IS SO CONFIDENT IN THE CONDITION OF THIS VERY SPECIAL FERRARI, HE WILL SERVICE AND WARRANTY IT FOR THE NEXT 2 YEARS, GIVING YOU POTENTIALLY NO SERVICE OR REPAIR BILLS IN THAT PERIOD. (subject to terms).

Love to know what the terms are! Unless this guy is backed by the fuggin Bank of China then offering 2 years warranty on an old Ferrari sounds like a one-way ticket to a life in sheltered accommodation

Terms:

Warranty only applies to cost of one (1) tube of assembly oil used in full engine rebuild required around 400 miles after purchase. Owner is to provide their own dustpan and brush for sweeping bits of engine out of the public highway.

Warranty is void if vehicle is driven a) At high RPMs B) Recklessly or B) At all

John reserves the right to tell vehicle owner to "Fuck off, take me to court if you want, I don't care" for the owner to subsequently realise this is a bit of a waste of time after seeing the dozens of unpaid CCJS John already has, presumably also for offering 2 year warranties on Italian supercars

Posted

If you're looking for a slightly quicker route to bankruptcy than offering two-year warranties on aging Italian supercars, how about this baby:

Low mileage Escort Eclipse with 12 months MOT.

By God, that's nice.

Now, is it just me or is there a ruck of big engined old Mercs on eBay recently? This looks bloody nice though lack of tax/test could be a worry. Still, £100 start, no reserve and a noticeable (and admirable) lack of wanky chrome arches and gash wheels.
