Equivalent to a Passat today? Can’t imagine many premier league footballers drive Passats just now. I’m sure there’s something in their contracts that forbids them driving anything costing less than £100k.

The Ital was a class above the normal game show price car,( I believe there used to be a limit on game show prizes , often you’d have Ladas or Yugos as prizes to get below the limit), but I guess it was so bad BL didn’t charge ATV very much for it.

As a Nuneatonite myself I can wholeheartedly confirm that the boat was left on Frank’s driveway for approximately 30 years. Really they went on the show hoping to win a new Fiesta Popular to replace Barry’s smoky 1972 Escort 1300XL. In the end I think they wished they’d not gambled the trouser press and the 14” colour portable…
