I've had problems making the manifold/downpipe gasket on my Herald seal. Finally got it sorted this morning with new gasket, fasteners and sealing paste. Great, but I don't want to be looking at exhausts again for a while. This afternoon I took the Mini for a spin. Half way home its front pipe detached from the cat

Doesn't sound too bad. Best make sure it gets used to justify the expense

Yeah, I want to get more use out of the BMW. I know it was only supposed to be a stop-gap... it did the job i needed it to during The Unpleasantness, but I don't want to get shot in case we Really Need it again. As such it's going to be Mrs_Pog's daily driver for a bit ( ) as we will need to sell the focus first then buy a galaxy once we have cash in our mitts. Splurging on credit cards ist verboten.

Headline news. I apprehended two thieving scrotes only to be slapped in the face by the CPS

I had the pleasure of changing the front discs, pads, and front wishbone rear bushes on my MX6 that my sis in law is using/destroying in preparation for its MOT next week, oh, and i fitted a cd player to it for her too.Went suprisingly well!

I indulged myself with some beige this weekend and picked this beaut of a 205 up from eBay for a decent price.

And the crowning glory, the BEIGE interior.

All that needs is some floor mats and it's done! No other real plans for it yet, apart from fit a CD player. I might have secured some very 80s alloys for it though.

The merry-go-round of shite continues here.

Glad to see the back of the Vectra. In fact so glad to see the back of it it was replaced by this 'beauty'...

It's been Barried up to fucking high heaven including a bodykit ( ), some spaccy WNDW TINTZ and an exhaust that could probably house most of London's homeless at the same time. Almost certainly spurious claims of 170 horses, though it does pull very well. Just missing a shopping list for the doors and some neons to make it king of McDonald's car park

Leather seats can't compensate for the fact it's a Focus and and a fucking chavmobile.

If anyone starts an e-war about the crappage scheme again I'm going to sell this to your next door neighbour.

Other tat news?

Astras: Mk4 still soldiering on, lad's Mk3 appears to need a service (he'll do that) and the fleet reduction continues with aplomb.

I did an oil and filter change on my Mercs autobox, 12.22 a litre hurt, but the difference is like night and day! Goodbye brown sludgy oil, hello nice red smooth shifting oil! :)

Regular fluid changes are THE WIN for long autobox life. Good work Mike! The Accord gets it's next gearbox fluid change next week, and MOT time looms - after changing 3 tyres and the front shocks I am hopeful there will be no nasty surprises...In other news the 405 may be replaced with something new(er) by the end of the week

My Commers due for the MOT and its booked in on Saturday , oh the joy

Pulled the engine from the maestro van. The 5 speed box is being saved for something else.....Ill post up what it is when I get it- Ive got to collect it from Newcastle upon Tyne. Also the head "should" be unleaded, seeing as its a BT van and they all got new heads at some point. Although I may have eaten too much cheese and had a dream about unleaded maestros.

Its all pretty much ready for the big chopping and welding session that should see it converted into a box trailer!

Oh, sorry for the wanky pics, and the dead driveshafts. On the plus side that Halfords socket set I bought is GREAT!!!

Bought an Audi a6 estate I didn't want, offered stupidly low price [£150] priceand seller agreed to it...needs a cv and some brake pads, but hardly the end of the world...............

Trip over to Wrexham this morning, sun shining, radio 4 on the tinny-ass stereo, shite out back on the A-frame.... lovely.

Been trying to get this thing started today, its not having it. Not firing at all. Theres pez getting through and a decent spark, but its not firing at all, not even a cough. I think its something to do with the choke, so have just splashed £1.20 on a manual choke conversion kit off eBay!!!

Done the weekly commute in the Crab this week:

Here it is at 5am this morning about to hit the road back to P'boro. What a great car this is, I love driving around in it. It feels 'proper', i.e. not like its going to fall apart at any minute or splutter to a halt at the roadside. And, I got 34mpg out of the last tankful, what about that!!!! 8)

Nice one! And there I was crowing about 35mpg in the Monaco, which is a fair bit younger! Must get myself some 'crab action' fairly soon.

Bollox, is that your suit jacket in the back?

My beloved Camry got a new radiator and a major service today, now it should be more than fine for season 2010! :P Still don´t know what to do with the Pajero, on one hand it´s in quite good condition, on the other hand it´s not legal (tires, bullbar) and only get´s 15 mpg.:roll:

I'm wondering if one of these might be the best way to avoid ever having to venture into the world of 'moderns'. Recent enough to have good parts supply, old enough for DIY, and they look good too. That looks proper-nice.

+1. Compared to my dad's one which is the same age, that is totally MINT.

Took the gearbox out of my Rover 220 last night, PLan is to strip it and fit new non-grumbling bearings. While doing this I also found worn out pads, 2 split CV boots, a leaky brake caliper and a hole in the sill. Ho hum.....

Posted

How did you find a hole in the sill taking the gearbox out?! No problem with your skillz0rz though!

1)Bought a 24 foot touring caravan.2)Removed old towing ball from Zafira as its not compatable with new towing hitch on van (Al-Ko stabiliser thingy) Swore a lot at very tight nuts.Fitted new (£22 fucking quid) extended neck Al-Ko tow ball.3) Spent fucking forever fitting the tow bar to the Micra - Main problems were removal of 11 year old rusted up fixings for rear bumper (swore), opening up chassis ends, threading in metal plate, holding in place with one finger whilst trying to support tow bar and insert bolt through two sets of holes with other hand and head supporting towbar (swore quite a lot)....And theh refitting the bumper with its broken fixings (swore a bit more). Then discovering the wiring loom adaptor didnt (adapt) and scotclocking the wiring into the offside rear lamp in a fit of fury and pissed wettedness as it had rained solidly for two whole days (threw spanners into hedge and stomped off at this point).4)Discovering Micra wont tow 24 foot caravan.

Today I caught a train in Cardiff at 06:55, by 12:46 I was in Thirsk. I got home just before 19:00 courtesy of the wonderful Maestro Van. It trundles along quite well, 300 miles in under six hours (One stop for fuel and high octane espresso). It has not used any oil or water, temp gauge was steady. I could probably have done it quicker but I wanted to get home rather than break it by thrashing it and by taking it easy I didn't get held up.

Ive been getting the serious horn for a nice Maestro van after getting my hands on my BT scrapper. Ill have to start some sort of business first though to justify getting one!Your one sounds really nice. Maestro vans are the new Minor vans!
