all the time shes paying the monthy installments for a car she doesnt actually have yet. She was so cross she told the dealer to cancel the whole thing and refund her money.

How on God's earth has she signed a finance doc for a car that wasn't even registered. Or, has she actually got a loan and paid for the thing up front? No wonder they don't give a shit. "Fuck her, we've got her money now"

Theres one in Aberdeen?? Good job they didnt realise! Saved me a 40 quid train fare anyway ;)

i reckon you drove past four or five on the way to Dunfermline.
at least, I would have thought.............guess Fiat dont know there dealerships any better than they read a spec sheet.................arses

How on earth somone can fuck things up as much as this is anyones guess. This cock up must have cost the dealer an absolute fortune with delivery charges, fuel e.t.c I thought they were desperate for people to buy cars?

Peugeot are no better. SWMBO's folks have bought a new 308SW, and we were offered their 307SW at trade-in price which was about £1500 below book. So we had it.... in September, since the Peugeot dealer told them there was a 308 sat in Scotland, be a couple of days to get it down here and it was theirs.Except it never appeared. So a new one was ordered, be "6 weeks or so". 6 weeks pass. Nothing. 8 weeks. Chased it with the dealer, he'd "get back to them". Nothing. Chased it at 9 weeks and 10 weeks. By week 11 there's daily phone calls which are never returned, the most anyone knows is the car has left the factory in France. 12 weeks, nothing. 13 weeks later, finally a phone call to say it's at the dealer - not an apology, no offer of a set of mats 'n' flaps or whatever, just "Come and get your car"The service offered when you're spending £20k was terrible. Bear in mind we've paid for our new / their old car but we can't have it till their new one arrives, but had we not had it they'd have told them to poke the 308 up their bums. They're picking it up today. I can almost guarantee it'll be wrong in some way, but we've got the 307 on the driveway now :)

Id like to moan about the local Fiat dealership here. When I picked the little fiat up it had 3 miles on the clock, by the time it gets back to Stoke it will have nearly 1000 miles on it

Platts or Marsons? Or no comment
No comment... You dont know who reads these pages! Actually ive already mentioned the a few times with the scrappage cars they have in. Im sure you can work it out. ;)A few months ago I delivered a brand new Alfa 159 in BLACK to a guy in Halifax. That had the wrong interior in it too. He accepted it though as hed been waiting months and they had already tried to deliver a WHITE 159 in error and he felt this was as good as he could expect. Pity. You wouldnt accept a 500 quid DFS sofa in the wrong colour, so why accept a 20k car?Im just waiting for the time I deliver a Scudo van to somone who wants a Panda or something. That would be the ultimate cock up.Regarding the finance being paid before she had the car, they wont release a car until the finance is in order and (I think) the first payment has been made. If I had a pound for every time ive gone to pick up a car, been about to drive it to its excited new owner and the salesman has run out shouting "THE FINANCE!, THE FINANCE ISNT IN ORDER!!" id have about a tenner by now.On a side note, I drove past the U-PULL-IT breakers yard on the way home and I was gagging to stop off and have a look around, but unfortunately I was pressed for time so couldnt.

These stories make me wonder even more about the sensibilities of buying new....

Great steaming elephant turds...Sold my old Micra at the end of October - few days later I get a letter about the tax, due at end of November - Ive sent the V5 off so I bin the reminder.Today i get a postcard saying I have 5 days grace to tax on line.Phone the Doovlay up and sure enough its still in my name. I now have to write to them saying where and when I disposed of the car. How the frig should I know who bought it, she was some fat bird called Amy, thats all I know.Bloody gits, I bet I get a late bloody payment fine too.

I certainly can't.

I have to agree with the stories of dealers not even getting the right car in. Mate of mine distinctly ordered an antarctic blue Super Sports Wagon with the CB and optional rally fun pack. He had a few weeks before the delivery date, then when he got there the dealer made up some rubbish and said that it didn't "come in". Unfortunately they'd already processed his old car through the scrappage scheme, so he was lumbered with this Truckster thing in an unpleasant shade of metallic pea. It's not even the right model! He said he got a great deal on it, but I'm unconvinced.

1. It's big enough for people AND pooches - the Saxo can only fit the dogs in with the back seat down, so it's been more or less a permanent 2 seater for the past year.2. It's uber low mileage and well looked after. 2004 '54' with 38k, dealer serviced and straight to the garage every time there's a bulb gone, funny smell or clonk.3. I refer again to the price.... we paid what the dealer would pay p/x so we 'saved' the profit the dealer would make. In actual fact we were going to spend the same amount, just on a 2002/2003 car.4. It's a bloody nice drive TBH. Only the 90bhp so it's not fast per se, but it's got a bit of go. Top of the range too so has goodies - my favourite so far is the big long glass roof.5. With my impending work relocation I needed a diesel. Also SWMBO is leaving work next year (we work together currently) so two cars is a must.So ner :P

I wouldn't 'ner' too much given their reputation sadly. Peugeots are utter crap these days when it comes to reliability, which makes me very sad. Peugeots used to be tougher than the mountains.

One thing I hate about modern pugs is most of them suffer from "wonky gearstick syndrome" Many are also horrifically underpowered. Ive driven quite a few lovely pugs mind.

Why weren't there more programs about the fall of the Berlin wall? it was twenty years since it came down and instead of putting a program on that might actually educate some of the dense twats in this country we get a repeated program on Discovery about escapes over the wall and a three part program from the BBC weeks after the anniversary that whilst it was quite good it was about Berlin as a city and only spent 15 mins talking about the wall.Radio 4 had some good stuff on but I was working for most of it so missed it, I just generally saddened that such an important and recent event was pushed aside no doubt in favour of yet more 'reality TV', this is what we've become :?

Agree with you shitemeister.....I only caught last weeks Berlin programme by chance so had missed the first one.Such a huge event in history just kind of forgotten about really.

I was on the wall, at the Gate (only place it was flat!) the night it came down. Occasionally spot myself (-garish multicoloured ski jacket)in various News items.Got some lumps of it someplace, together with pics. Fantastic to know, at the time, that history is in the making.

Broken drill bits. When they leave a bit in the hole. And they're made of carbide. And they're only 0.3mm diameter. And the bit they're stuck in is very fragile. :x

Let me guess, you were A-framing a trabbie home behind a Borgward and as you went through Berlin the wall fell down! 'All in a days work'

So now we're told that eating Christmas puds is a crime against the environment as the ingredients come from far off exotic lands.OK, well stop bringing shiploads of Hyundais over and I'll forego my Crimble pud - fair swap, right. Also does anyone think that trailers ought to be subject to some kind of MOT or registration? Like most of you I'm sure, I'd look after one if I had one but I had rather a close call today because of some twat in a van (they were heading down a street where there's a pikey site admittedly...) with no working lights or indicators on his trailer and the load was blocking the van lights.

I read that, and it made me want to eat Christmas pudding. I don't even like the stuff, but I'd gladly force a dozen down just to piss off the sandal-wearing ecomentalists. If I only ate local food, I'd be on a diet of, well, fuck all. Probably raw rapeseed and potatoes, that's all they seem to grow around here. Doesn't sound tasty to be honest. Oh, and lamb - shedloads of sheeps in the fields on the way to work.

lamb and spuds is OK though Pillochio. All I'd be scoffing is sprouts and onions.
