reason for sale: have bought another car

Well. Yes, that seems reasonable, but may I enquire why you bought another car? Is it because the one you're selling is shit?

What an amateur. Buying another car is no reason to sell a car. They like company! Probably.

I dunno, at least we'll be able to tell from a distance that anyone walking round like they've got rickets is a fucking idiot and to avoid them at all costs. It'll be visible from a greater distance than the usual Everlasting Jobstoppers that potless stinking fuckwits like my sister are sporting nowadays

Very true. I've still not got over going out pyjamas. It took me ages to figure out why there was loads of lassies standing at bus stops in their pyjamas and ugg boots.

Said it before, being stupid, selfish and lazy is currently the in thing. I just worry that it could get worse.

I don' think that's a fashion trend, I just think some people are born to have those characteristics and there are more of the great unwashed breeding than the rest of us.

This guy must have to put down "professional fuckwit" as a profession on passport applications and the like. If people start wearing their shoes on the wrong feet as a fashion statement I'm moving to Afghanistan.

Sadly I've suffered watching that moron and his stupid fucking mates on telly as my daughter is enthralled by that sort of shit. Even sadder still is that are actually people even thicker than that knob in a blender. They really are the absolute pond life of this nation and its twats like them, Big Brother and so called 'celebrities ' that should be fucked off out of it to a remote island thousands of miles away.

Saturday I receieved a renewal quote for my van - £689.10 - I dress as Jimmy Saville and peddle kids and drugs out the back or something to justify the price?

Todays email with the lowest renewal quote - £553.39 so £130 odd quid difference... both are from the same company, robbing dogs.

10 days to sell it and buy a car.

Not in any way grumpy, but just baffled.... Discovered this wonderful forum earlier this year and love it to bits TBH. Lots of shite, and non shite related threads in equal measure. Love reading most of them and its better than watching telly usually!

Lots of folk on here with cracking sense of humour, intelligent posts and heaps of knowledge/experience about the kind of cars we love. I must admit I see this forum as a kind of publess pub, with banter and lots of friendly humour. Like a local pub without going out etc. Great! Am on here most days to catch up.

Thing is, I seem to be repeatedly shot down in flames for posting stuff! :?

Ok. Not always car related, but usually some tenuous link...

Have I missed the point? It's entirely possible!

Is there a training course?

:D

Was beginning to despair!

Boiler has crapped out again so now we have no heating (well, we had none anyway as it's too expensive to turn on, seriously) and no hot water either. Parents' annoying neighbour has started to report my parents for 'dangerous dogs' which they don't have and has begun to make noises about the number of cars on the driveway, regardless of the fact they're all road legal. I'm just clinging on to the thought that I'll be moving in to the spare room soon as I've nearly finished decorating and cleaning that in preparation for hauling furniture over, but it's proving tough to decide just what to take since I'm scaling down from a 3 bed house to 1 bedroom in a house. Yesterday, I drove like a complete arsehole for no discernible reason, I had to give myself a good talking to.

Also, finding out that two scientific icons have passed away this weekend has really made me feel the grumps all the more.

Seriously looking forward* to the drama that will unfold with the annoying neighbour, he really is a weapons grade fuckwit. I hope he gets on the wrong side of me, I could do with taking my frustrations out on someone deserving.

Is this because I pointed out the hypocrisy in the 'I am a victim of road rage - its evil' to the 'Oh look its happening to someone else its funny'. I have to be completely honest, you lined yourself up for that one. If it makes you feel any better, I would have happily pointed that out to anyone no matter how long they had been on the forum and wold happily expect to be shot down in flames myself for such an act. Tis' the nature of the beast sir.

Had a number of panic attacks today about a presentation I need to give tomorrow that I've been working on for the past month.

Bad things going on in the background. Can't think straight about it.

Some time ago I mentioned that I had recorded a film in the 80's on the same night as a disaster. It was either Lockerbie, the Kegworth crash or as an outside chance maybe even the Clapham Rail crash.

Anyhow, there was a news flash in the middle of it and the end of the film was cut off. For some reason this cropped up in conversation several years ago and since then I have been trying to find out what this film is without success.

The only thing I remember about it is that a bloke and a girl were selling cars and then stealing them back and selling them on again.

Thought I had cracked it when someone suggested 'No Mans Land' a Charlie Sheen film about a group of criminals who steal and ring Porsches. After sitting through the whole film tonight I have to say its was definitely not that one. It was not the best film in the world but was certainly better than 'Navy Seals' (although anything is better than navy Seals). It has also made me want a Porsche again.

I think Tayne suggested previously that it might have been the original Gone in 60 seconds, but it wasn't (but I did get the film and enjoy it - thanks).

Has anyone got any further ideas or suggest a way of finding out? TBH, I reckon it was probably a late 70's early 80's film. Copies of the Radio Times go for ££££ for some reason and I cant really be arsed spending £25 on several copies trying to find out what the film is but thought I might raise the question again to see if any new faces on the forum have any ideas?

Car film

It was me who recommended the original Gone In 60 Seconds, can I now suggest "Used Cars" starring Kurt Russel.

I really must get around to doing a thread about car movies...

Doesn't sound like Used Cars. Try remembering what cars were featured and do an IMCDB search.

Posted

I don't think it was Used Cars as I don't remember the film being a comedy, although when I first saw Big Trouble In Little China I did not realise that it was a comedy either and actually thought Jack Burton was pretty fucking cool.

The only car I seem to remember was them stealing a burgandy (pre 964) Porsche 911. I only remember they kept selling the cars to unsuspecting punters and then robbing them back. The bird in it had short-ish dark hair. The rest of it is a bit of a blur (as is anything pre 1990's for most people who were old enough to go to raves).

Good shout re the Radio Times archives A5. Apparently going online next year so I will be able to find out then. I hope this actually happened and I have not dreamt this entire incident as its been bugging me for some time now.

To be fair I don't think all newbies get a verbal pasting, it's mostly the ones with nothing to say but plenty to type who seem to cop for it.
