can't believe you let them move without making sure the stuff was safe!

That's basically what my mum said!

Edit: God, I feel really bad now, she's offered to buy new track if daughter_tone is keen.

I like the fact that downsizing is blamed. Might that be because these cars keep getting bigger? If the Mondeo was still Mondeo Mk1 sized, perhaps more people would buy them.

See the comments! Nearly everyone complains about the daft size of the thing- that's very encouraging as far as I'm concerned!

Yeah but thats where the problem lies.... it only seems to be us petrolheads/shitists that actually realise that most cars being churned out are hopelessly oversized, poorly built wank tanks. There is an obsession with the 4x4s and their look-a-likes because currently big is best and nobody cares about the fact that it is a rubbish car that will die within 8 years as they'll sell it on when they've paid the finance on it.

There is something wrong with the car when it's primary market is the Yank one - it shows how hopelessly outsized and crap these cars are.

TDP there's also a Strathclyde 101 coming out from Hornby if you wanted to buy new... obviously it would be very different to your 156 though - hope yours has survived.

It's the cheap finance and the OMG IMAGE STYLE LUXURY AUDI 1.9tdi SILVER seems to have done it for the Mondeo. Such a shame that the other mindset seems to be that you have to buy a fake 4x4 the moment you start thinking about having a child. Never mind everyone else on the road as long as you get the elevated driving position huh?

Well put! My mum had a mini clubman when me and my sister were babies, she managed just fine. You see people selling perfectly decently sized cars like golfs and getting a Nissan Juke because they need something bigger :lol::lol::lol:

Have you seen the size of modern baby buggies though.

Looks to have Jaguar/Aston Martin influences about it:

Hmm... It looks very Aston Martin/Jaguar XF to me too, which no bad thing at all, It's hard to imagine such a good looking car being parked up in council estate front gardens on blocks and with cracked bumpers in 15 years time though.

Surely that is just a facelift/re-skin of the current model?

That's what we all said about the Sierra

That's what I thought. Put some streaky headlamps on it and ditch the chrome nose and then the marketing people, who wouldn't know a spark plug from a brake servo, can blather on about it being all-new. Simply threaten the journos that any bad press and they can't come on any more fancy launch parties and bingo! All new!

My house I want to sell worth = £110k

My mortgage after scraping for 10% deposit and 4 years of paying it off = £113k

My Dad's in a similar position. His nutter ex wife railroaded them into moving into a brand new (awful) house about 5 years ago. They paid far too much for it, really, On an interest only mortgage

Anyway, she's buggered off and left him, so he's living in a 4 bedroom house on his own. They owe 240k on it, and it was valued a couple of months ago at £210k.

New Mondeo does look like a re-skin, but a bloody handsome one at that.

Apologies to Scooters and any other Scottish capital based shitters, but people in Edinburgh CANNOT FUCKING DRIVE. It's like they've all had a motoring lobotomy.

As you were.

the mk2 was just a re-skinned mk1 wasn't it?

Oh aye! So it was. Proof I suppose that there's nothing new under the sun...

Just fitted some cheap ebay locking wheel nuts. Usually, they are OK but these were the pin type, and frankly they looked wank, so I set the torque wrench to 70NM to cover my arse. First one I put in, one of the pins sheared clean off the key way before I got to 70nm. So now I've got a loose wheelbolt and a fucked key for it.

I've emailed the seller asking them to send me another key, and the lot will be going straight in the bloody bin when I get this bolt out.

Normally I don't like politicians, but how the Scottish people can vote in that fat, arrogant, slimy, toady, cunty Alex Salmond is beyond me. Never before has a single politician ever provoked me into such loathing (And I lived through the Thatcher years). The fat cunt has campaigned for decades on a platform of Scottish independence and now he's finally been told he's getting a referendum whether he likes it or not, surprise surprise the repulsive coward has shit himself and thrown his toys out of his pram.

I enjoy politics so I don't vote but if Cameron had made a manifesto pledge back in 2010 to finally shut that Scottish cunt up once and for all I'd of voted Tory in the last election.

I'd never vote Tory whilst I still have a hole in my arse, but I absolutely and totally agree with you about Salmond. What a hateful bastard that fat get is.

I think he wants a couple more years so slag the English off and try and convince the Scottish voters that we are all Colonial slave drivers. I've had two Scots randomly approach me an apologise for Alex Salmond. Seems even the Scots think hes a knob.

Couldn't agree more about Salmond. That fat bastard and his "Independence" campaigning makes my shit itch. The only reason they got in was that the two other main parties in Scotland have become totally hopeless.
