2 days off work (Sat/Sun) the busiest days which is why it's stupid the manager has started putting me down for them (makes my sales look shit of course) and then 2 days at Head Office.

Came back today to a total shitheap left by my new assistant who was off (manager was off too, probably giving him some personal training...), cue a visit from the 2nd top boss and him saying "If it's a mess next time he's there I'm sacked".

Sooner he's deported the better, he can go work for Norm.

tale of ongoing misery

I feel for you mate, and not just 'cos of Roverage being involved. It's precisely the challenge you're facing that restricts me from owing any of the colossal variety of chod I'd like to get my hands on. Hopefully Nic and I will be getting our own place soon enough, but even then it'll be a while before I can risk having a decomposing Scimitar on the driveway...

Normally living next to a primary school doesn't bother me as I'm at work all week so don't hear the little darlings.

However as I'm off today, they've decided to have some God-forsaken music lesson outside (in October!!?). Some kid has been banging a sodding drum relentlessy for the last half hour.

Open the window all the way and play some Cannibal Corpse or Napalm Death

Good idea....but just looking thru my cd collection, the heaviest thing I have is either Evanescence or Europe.

Hey Pete, I've got a load of bits for the 604, rear bumper, original stereo, full set of mudflaps. You can have it all for £79, but let me know or it's going in the skip.

Fucking charming. He may as well have written "Buy the shit I kept for years for your car, or you'll never find it again"

Sorry, but no. If he's gonna skip it, or charge me £79 for it, he can sling the lot. Cheeky fucker.

offer him £20!

Why £79 anyway? why not £80?

Posted

Because he's being a cunt. He wanted £200 originally and I said "No". Now he's dropped his price thinking that I'm desperate for a 604 rear windscreen. I'm not at all. It's got one, if it breaks I'll go to France and get one and a leather interior while I'm there.

Hide behind the skip and grab it when he turns his back  Be sure to let him see you make off with it mind

i'd tell him the sale is over. i don't want to buy anything else

ive met some local car club members like this, they think that you are in a sales relationship with them. If he does manage to sell you these spares (at any price), he will be back in 3 months with the spring collection for your perusal

Fully agree. Can't stand greedy/stupid people like this, it's like they're trying to hold a gun to your head. A bit like people who advertise rare stuff and say they'll skip it if they don't get a decent offer.

Just as you suggest they can lob it all away if that's their attitude.

And the peasant relations of them on Freecycle - holding shit to ransom - must be collected in next 5 minutes or it will be skipped, posted at 11pm on a weekday etc.

And the ones who offer you a deal on your car with their's and then later say 'I want £300 on top as mine is worth more'.

Listen, dickhead, you offered me the deal and now you want money on top? No matter how good the deal they can shove it up their arse.

the ebay arse breathers have started already

had 2 ppl offering £1000 for car... 1st says end auction when he bids 1k in 5-10 mins over 4 hrs ago........ still waiting

2nd guy is a "seriously interested buyer" with a grand burning a hole in his pocket... ok leave a small deposit and i will hold car for you.... still waiting

15 watchers...dunno if they are waiting for a lift or a fuggin bus  bin price and start price is only £100 difference. so what is there to watch??

Friend of mine owns an '89 F plate Isuzu Trooper 2.8 SWB.

Scrotes popped one of the back windows, ripped all the column housings off, snapped the indicator switch, unscrewed the back of the ignition barrel to get the 'black cap' off, then snipped all the wires off the cap instead of just turning the middle bit to make it go.

Where the hell can I find another lock-to-loom bit? Need an offside rear lamp too.

If it helps I state on the listing that I'll consider a 'buy it now' price if agreeable and only once a small, non-refundable deposit has been received first. All you need is enough to cover the listing fees and FVF so if they do cock on the deal you're not out of pocket.

Inflexible bureaucracy.

Yesterday (Thursday) I came home from the hospital mid-afternoon to find I had no electricity. Asked my neighbour, yes, he has his, no problem. Everything here closes at 1pm, so I had no power the rest of the day. This morning I went down to the electricity office early doors. Where's my power? Oh you didn't pay your bill. What bill? We sent you a reminder too. What reminder? Well we sent it. If you pay your bill we can reconnect you. So I drew some cash out of the bank (conveniently across the road) paid the bill and put my name down for reconnection "which we can do today." They did too, about 2pm. I hadn't opened my freezers so I hope everything survived.

Still back and forth to the hospital. Mrs Ramrod was moved to Intensive Care yesterday. People are telling me the care there is actually pretty good. I hope so. She's bristling with tubes and stuff now and probably doesn't know I'm there, but she does actually look a bit better today than yesterday. Managed to get some info out of the doctor at last, he's pretty convinced it wasn't a stroke. Did tell me what he thinks it is but I can't spell it... Anyway she's getting treated for whatever it is, so that might be good news. Visiting is extremely restricted at the ICU so I have some time to myself, thank goodness.

Bloody hell, Get Well Soon, Mrs Ramrod!

+1 from the Claim family.

Thank you chaps, when she can understand me I'll tell her about all the support you've given her. It's helping me too.

You must be worried sick. I honestly don't envy you at all.

I am actually, yeah. We came here for a better life.... 2-1/2 years out of work, drained bank accounts in two countries, interminable health issues, red tape up the wazoo, total lack of A-series tuning parts so I have to buy stuff on ebay and get it shipped, outlandish price structure for old cars (taking no account whatever of the continuous taxation on them), crap internet, crap telly, crap radio... yeah, better life, as I was saying. Way things are going you might even see me back in Blighty yet, now THAT would be cause for a Grump!

Good luck to the good lady, Eddy.

Right, back to (pointless in comparison) grumping:

Dear BBC,

is it 'national patronise the Welsh' week or something? Chris Evans and seemingly all of your news team appear to think everyone in Britain will be backing Wales in the rugby today.

Well, you're wrong.

Annoyed of England.

Posted

France Eddy, but i think Wales lost, p.s Think of you both as well from Mr and Mrs Trigger. :)

Ta Trigger, and for the wishes too. I think that tells you all you need to know about how I view sport!

bloody hell, eddy, that sounds awful. Hope everything gets sorted and Mrs Ramrod gets well soon!
