You could try one of these things as some of the laundry liquid will be retained in the drawer compartment.

I just used to chuck the cap full of liquid in when I could use perfumed detergents.

Yes, it's sad, but a nice comment from him to the Norwegian media below which says something about him, which I have translated.

ZTT has developed an annoying vibration and rattle today. It's there at idle, blipping the throttle gets rid. It's there again when moving off, but goes as the revs get higher. When moving it's fine at light throttle or coasting, but comes back under harder acceleration and when nearly at a stop. My first thought was an engine mount, now I'm wondering if it's an exhaust rattle. I hope it will get me to the garage tomorrow and that they have time to at least look at it.

I bung half a pack of soda crystals through my machine on a 90 degree wash twice a year. Usually with towels and rags in to not waste a good wash 😂

Hasn't stopped the bearings screaming though 🙄 Mine is a cheap hotpoint that is only just over a year old as it was replaced during the fire-gate warranty issues , the old one was fine but I didn't say no 😂

Even more technically it's not even mine it came with the house. So when the bearings eventually explode I'll call the magic number 👍🤷

I did once have to upend it and remove the sump, as a shark filter had clogged it. All seemed pretty clean inside of it. It's the bloody drawer going mouldly over time that does my head in no matter how ajar I leave it

Mine gets smashed through a maintenance wash once every three months as it gets quite pongy, ive got the model one above yours from memory, exactly the same but 8kg brushless inverter thing so it doesn't scream as much (until the pump kicks on and shakes the house down)

Took my sump plug thing off yesterday, the odour almost made me drop the crapping thing! Also must investigate why it sends its drained water up the drain and into the sink...

Isle of Man TT. I've enjoyed watching this for years, one week a year I religiously sit down and watch the coverage on ITV4. After the first race this year haven't bothered, thanks to fucking Irish Road Racing news pop ups and social media algorithms giving away the results before I can have a chance to watch them. I mean, have a breaking story by all means but don't post who won as the title header.

Well listen to the commentary live on Manx Radio AM

Then you can send annoying posts to Irish Road Racing News and others telling them what's going on...

Friendly local garage managed to fit this in between jobs today. Exhaust sleeve had failed. They fitted a new one and back OTR an hour ago for £54 -plus a box of biscuits.

Hoards of "travellers" have pitched up  on a local park. Already they're causing mayhem, racing about ignoring red lights, doing donuts on the park in pickups, probably a lot of diesel going to  suddenly "evaporate" from trucks and things mysteriously going missing over the next few weeks.

I think the problem is that unless you’re on a week off or on the Island, you have to wait until the evening to catch the action on tv, and I always enjoyed the excitement of not knowing who was going to win.

I put my sports kit through the wash with napisan. Read about it years ago to get rid of smells. Works great and is cheap.  Plus kills any bacteria in the machine.

I read that as nappies for a second 😂

I've done that once... Many years ago eva put one of her (thankfully wee only) nappies in the washing basket and I didn't check as I stuffed it all into the machine...

The fucking mess was awful, all the absorbant stuff came out and went everywhere. Had to re wash everything several times and the machine's filter (the front bottom one) clogged many times.

 2/10 wouldn't recommend

That's what napisan is for, washing nappies.   Disposables are convenient for holidays, camping etc. but I have zero regrets about using cotton nappies for all three of em.

My wife insisted on towelling nappies for all five of ours.  Much Napisan used but never thought of using it for anything other than nappies.

We did have disposables for when away from home of course, but when our first (and second) was born we received a huge box of disposables, along with baby oil, cream and baby food free from the manufacturers.  Postie rang the bell and had a gigantic box of disposables on the doorstep.  Would barely have fit in the lift and I hope he didn't have to carry it up eight floors of stairs.

This was in Sweden, where disposables originated, apparently.  My wife was somewhat horrified at the waste as opposed to washing them but did accept them under certain circumstances.

And a downvote for the word 'diaper'.

I imagine the laundry disinfectants you can buy now are pretty much the same as Napisan.

You certainly don't want a clogged front bottom.  😄😄

Grumpy? You bet.

My BMW has a problem with the indicators - signalling right and they go fast - I had an error for the rear right.

Alarm bells should have been ringing when there is nothing in the owners pack to tell you how to swap a bulb.

Even more alarm bells when there are no how to's on the internet.

The bells were peeling even more when I got the tools out and noticed a crack in the plastic.

After removing some nuts ( a couple were a right PITA due to access ) I managed to get the light free.

20250320_121542.jpg.c0e872ee8aa19286fe4a0cd1f44846bf.jpg

I removed four screws from the rear cover but even then unit wouldn't separate.

20250320_121556.jpg.946e91defc5d23ed9126ee25563755a0.jpg

I saw a PCB inside. Even gently prising was causing the plastic to crack. So I stopped.

It is obviously a sealed unit. With LED lights.

So it will require a new cluster - even if you could repair the fault you would irrevocably damage the housing.

The german car industry has done it's own legs......

BMW? Indicators? You ‘aving a laugh!

My screenwash bottle is turning into flaky pastry.

Says it's polypropylene, explains why it's starting to decompose.

Slapped some sealant on it. Should hold well enough.

Years ago, when the pump sucked through the lid of the bottle, a plastic bag stuffed inside did the trick. Progress, eh?

Having had a new bathroom last year, I can easily believe it!

There's probably a lot of scope to reduce that, though, if you scrutinise how that 20k breaks down. If it's going to be fully tiled then just choosing cheaper tiles might make a significant dent in the cost.

We had bathroom & separate toilet done in 2021. We chose & bought all the fittings, decent quality stuff and  a guy did it with one helper, bringing in a sparky and a plumber. Total cost was IRO £15k, IIRC so depending on your spec that may be about right. We did indulge in a big 5-sided shower enclosure, the biggest cost single item.

Just to jump on the bandwagon, main bathroom comprising

- Remove all fixtures and fittings back to studwork
- Install new plasterboard
- Plaster
- Install new bath, screen, over-bath shower, toilet, basin, pedestal, radiator, mirror, extractor
- re-route some pipework and electrics
- Approx 50% tiled, incl window aperture
- Fit click-lock flooring

Cost £12k about 12 months ago. I'm very pleased with the quality of work. All I did was painting of the untiled plaster.

Firm who did it have also done similar work in my downstairs cloakroom (to equally high standard) and I will be bringing them back next year to do the en-suite. They've already said that it'll be a fair old bit more than the main bathroom though, as materials have gone up markedly in the last year. I have no reason to doubt their word on this.

As other have said, there is scope to reduce costs significantly by choosing cheaper tiles. I'd have loved haematite green tiles in the bathroom we had done last year, but they were at least £4k more than the navy blue we ended up going for. I'm still very happy with the end result.

EDIT TO ADD: My brother in law had his main bathroom done at approx the same time, but he decided to buy everything himself, and pay someone to fit it all. It was a total fiasco of things not fitting together properly, leaky pipes, and the eventual finished result being a bit mismatched. He paid less than we did, approx £8k all in, but it took three times as long and about 8 million visits to B&Q to buy things he'd either not thought of, or which didn't fit properly. Yes I paid more, but the design was all included, I saw the recommended fixtures and fittings (and was able to make several changes) before paying a penny, and it was 100% on the firm installing it all to guarantee it would be compatible. My life was easily £4k less stressful as a result.

Also also, the apprentice managed to drop the mirror and break it (7 years bad luck lol lol lol) before it was installed and the firm bought a new one without quibble - in their words "we sourced it, we broke it, we will replace it"
