That's what happens when you use the "Make offer" function on Gumtree. It just sends the number. I had stuff advertised for £500 and had an email conversation along the lines of,

 

"300."

"800."

"It's advertised for £500??????"

"The extra 300 is for people who can't be arsed engaging in a discussion or explaining why their offer is low and consider just emailng a number is a reasonable means of communication. Or doesn't your keyboard have letters?"

The chap then explained he'd used the offer system and apologised if it appeared rude, but it was Gumtree's fault.

 

He ended up buying it and while it pisses me off, I remember I've used the "send offer" button too.

I hadn't even used Gumtree, this was on Facebook selling pages. I know, it's my own fault! So. Each guy said he will be with me soon, turned up and said his Mrs told him that it was a gas mig but he said screw it I'll have it anyway so bar two drongos was pretty painless

Then the fun starts and they say 'would you take £80 for the Corsa tonight' and you an just reply NO, FUCK OFF.

Its been a really bad day in London today.  I caught the Central line home this evening, it was actually very quiet, I think alot of people cleared off early or on time in case anything else kicked off. We then got held in the tunnel before St Paul's while TFL staff dealt with some nutter shouting off on the train ahead. He was being held on the platform as we passed through.

 

Lets remember London is full of various races and religions who all travel / work / live side by side every day without incident.  Incidents like today's are caused by a tiny minority who aren't religious, just fanatic and evil.

Windows brings up 'I want to restart', I click 'restart later'. I turn my back for a second, and windows frigging restarts later - about 1 minute later. WTF. Lost a day's work!

Snap! My laptop's hard drive has just failed, so I've lost much of today's work too. Thankfully, I have sent three completed things throughout the day, and did a back up at the weekend, so it could be worse. I wasn't betting on having to buy a new laptop this month though.

Matt home early yesterday from 6th form for some reason. We have an agreement that we put pez in his car that we also seem to have paid for so that he does the taxi'ing for his younger brothers to and from school.

 

Me "can you pick your brothers up?"

Matt - "no why should I?"

me "because I asked you nicely to. I am working and need you to do this"

Matt after a loud of Chuntering sets off late 

12 mins later 

Mrs Thestag "better come  quick and sort this out! WW3 has just kicked off and Matt has broken a window on his car, says he wants to kill David and is shouting CUNT at the absolute top of his voice"

 

In a nutshell David (who is a little shit at pressing the right buttons to wind anyone up) started a "blackcat" session with Matt about whose Design Technology project was better. This escalated once parked up and culminated it Matt picking up a handful of gravel and hurling it at David who he fortunately missed. The rear quarter window took the brunt.

 

The whole debacle is recorded on Dashcam up until the window break. That is the whole 32 seconds of the argument.

 

I calmed Matt down who to his credit had done so all by himself but not before breaking two windows in my Greenhouse which he refuses to accept! And got him to hoover the bits of glass out of his car.

 

Went to go see David who is adamant that Matt is a lunatic and that none of this is his fault.

 

Matt refuses to talk to David "he is dead to me" was the only legible bit I could get from his angry chuntering

 

Verdict - David had his phone confiscated for the evening - he was incandescent with rage and slammed his door amidst much verbal aimed at me, couldnt give a shit there

 

Matt will pay for second hand glass £22 and bond £12 - My labour is free

 

Neither Mrs thestag nor I want Matt to drive his brothers around anymore until A. he sorts his anger out or b. they can fucking behave themselves. thus free pez is now cancelled

 

Matt does NOT accept that he has an anger issue

 

David does NOT accept that he did anything wrong

 

I calmly explain to Matt that had he connected with David and done damage then he would be in serious troubles. More so how does he control his anger when out and about. In practice I think he learned a huge fuck off lesson yesterday and will continue to work with him on this until I am sure

 

I explain to David that he can be a nasty little shit and will come to great harm if he doesn't stop winding people up.

 

I am still left with neither really accepting they are in the wrong. This morning I drove the twins to school and within 100 yards I have Louis verbally abusing me because I hadnt yet bought him a new screen for his iPad2 - couldnt give a shit but then throwing punches at his brother. I stopped and told them to walk which they did.

 

I know that this will continue at 4pm

Should I

throw them out into the garden to sort it out

go to the pub with mrs thestag

mediate for the whole evening  again

or something else that escapes me

My son isn't at that age yet and I've only one kid so doubt I will encounter this. I also know times have changed since I was 16*which admitted was only 14 years ago but anyway, if me and my siblings fell out like that my dad would give us a hiding for greenhouse damage and then throw us outside to Duke it out between ourselves. I have a large old factory roof to make water tight. Replacing broken and missing slates. Owners don't want me to do it on my own. Found someone who is used to ladders and has worked putting solar panels on roofs. Monday, shit weather, no work. Tuesday he started and after I showed him what to do it went along real good. Yesterday evening checked weather, looking good. Rang my assistant, no answer. Rang later, still no answer. Rang this morning, still nothing. Had arranged to work Thurs, Fri, and Saturday with him. Now I have to try and find someone else by tonight or I'm going to earn one days money this week, which is no where near enough. What a total SHIT.
