I have to say I was very tempted. He was all about "So you WON'T SELL ME THE CAR DURING BUSINESS HOURS" And I was all like "NO WAY".I am not sacking off work for that. Even if I re-arrange one job I have to either reschedule for like, June, or then bump all the other jobs back. I'm fully booked for at least the next 6 weeks, so it just makes it too complicated.

He's blatantly a complete gobshite. Ask him if he ran out of petrol in some poxy village somewhere at 11.00pm would he 'phone the owner of the garage that shut at 9.00pm and demand he opens specially for him?

Actually Billy, now that you put it like that, I think 'FUCK OFF' is too mild for the stupid prick. Why the hell should you rearrange work for him over a 300 quid snotter? Cheeky bastard. Are you a business now? Do you have opening hours?I'd ring him at 1 AM and get well irate and ask WHY DON'T YOU ANSWER THE PHONE IN BUSINESS HOURS, THEY'RE MY BUSINESS HOURS BECAUSE I AM A PROFESSIONAL DICK HEAD etc etc.Tell him if he wants it, he can come over the Easter Weekend. What a cum gargler.

I had an eBay buyer once who wanted me to rearrange my entire working week so he could pick up a £150 Rover 825D because he "didn't want to drive home in the dark". I had him on the phone for about 20 minutes suggesting ever more stupid ways that I could accommodate his demands. In the end I told him to feck orf and weighed the car in, getting £330 for it. It's the only time I've ever weighed in a useable, MoT'd car.On the other side of the coin, I've just won a Focus estate on the Bay. 1.8 TDDi, 6 months' test, four months' rent, needs a diesel pump, £100. The seller has a Lithuanian-sounding name. What are the odds he won't answer my emails?

Dunno why you didnt just tell him no!

my grump: Realisation. It's a bugger. I've come to the realisation that i'm probably not going to be able to afford to get a car for about a year now, as the clock is really starting to tick towards my jaunt to America, tentatively pencilled in for early July. Work is still messing me about on overtime so I need every penny I can get really, as i'll be over there for about 6 months, maybe longer. This has really made me grumpy because I was looking foward to turnign up to the autoshite summer meet in my own car (hopefully i'll be able to blag a lift with one of the southern 'shiters), and waling to work in the pissing rain all week has been depressing to say the least. On the plus side by the time I get back the insurance should have halved at least, hopefully that'll give me a bigger budget for shite purchasing. sigh.

Yo barrett, i've got the Autoshite bike 205 you can have, nothing on it, but shouldnt need much more than the exhaust sealing, a couple of tyres and maybe a balljoint for a test, it's a 1.1gl, 1984.... It's in Lincs but if you can arrange an A FRAME RELAY then go for it :)

Less than helpful breakers. See car advertised on site, forget all about it and phone a couple of weeks later quoting their reference number:Them: “It’s not here yet.â€ÂMe: “Any idea when it might be in?â€ÂThem: “Noâ€ÂMe: “Any chance you could phone me when it’s in; I’ve bought quite a bit from you in the past?â€ÂThem: “Noâ€ÂMe: “What if I use the web interface enquiry facility?â€ÂThem: “Noâ€ÂMe: “Any idea how much the boot lid will be?â€ÂThem: “Noâ€ÂMe: “Thanks for your help then.â€ÂGreat

Ah thanks, what a kind offer! Is that the red 4door thats been through a few people on here? anyway, i'm in no position to have it now but if it's still going begging when i pass my test i'll give you a shout. thanks again (made me feel all warm inside, being offered a free non-taxed non-mot'd 80s pug is a pretty great thing in my book)

Barrett , you should still get it !Even without a full license, you can slowly make it into the car you want 8) What ever happens, Mike D is a legend for even offering you it.Well done sir  -We should have an Autoshite wall of fame ! -

Rant number two - working out my "promotion" wages, minus living costs, means I get to live on £25 a week for nicities like food, petrol and clothes..... because my promotion was a drop of £7000, with an extra £1500 a year petrol costs. GR8!

How is this a "promotion"!!??:shock:
Because I now have to buy my own shirts, instead of a company supplied uniform? That's a promotion, isn't it?To be fair I, along with 120 other members of staff, took the piss royally with bonus payments over the past 5 years. My basic wage has risen from 17k to 25k which isn't bad, however I was pulling in another 15k on bonus and allowances through ill-thought-out company proceedures which I've now lost. So I'm in a cheap suit, eating value beans, scouring monser dot com.

Hey Barrett you should go for that 205 if you have somewhere off road store it, it will give you time to get it ready for a mot plus there's nothing like having your own car that you can't drive to encourage to past your test quicker!

I´m so sick of the german car-chauvinism in Germany and Austria! Austria is traditionally german-car-country, and especially japanese cars have absolutely no following at all! I even hear people say "Normally I don´t like japanese cars at all, but I bought this one because..." all the time. You need to justify yourself why you bought a japanese car and why you like japanese cars here! That´s the reality here and I´m more than offended, I get really enraged everytime I hear someone talking about why the german cars are the best ones in the world and why only german car makers know what real quality is and many more shit like that...

Crikey, don't move to the UK then!

Is it becoming this bad in the UK too?But there are more people living in the UK, so there are more people like the ones on OJC.com. In Austria, you would have an OJC.at-forum with 4 members, I guess.

Dont worry Lukas, modern Mercedes cars have helped to dent the reputation of German cars over here in the U.K. Little grumble,The small company where the FIL works won 1.5 MILLION QUID on the lottery on Saturday meaning the workers get approx 64k each. The MD and his wife, plus both of their sons who are directors plus all the office and sales staff each get 64k a piece. JACKPOT!Unfortunately the FIL works with about 3 other blokes in the stores department and they have their own lottery syndicate so they havent won a bean. They could have really done with the money too. So while the whole staff do the conga with funny hats on, each drinking from a very expensive champaigne bottle the FIL has to keep doing his work, eating his lard sandwiches and counting the 399 years until his mortgage is paid off. Unlucky!

Hey, I have not won the jackers on the lozza, ever.I think all winners should give me a cut, because I haven't won, and they have and that would be nice. Having not bought a ticket since 1994 has absolutely no bearing upon this matter.

Posted

There is talk of the MD and his family giving the poor suckers in stores a few K each as it was mentioned years ago at a booze fuelled Chrismas party that if the office did ever hit it rich they would "give a few K to the stores, as it wouldnt be fair on them" I wouldnt go booking any holidays though..

People who still think that the Labour party are 'the party of the people'. I've just had a conversation with a slightly mental Italian woman I know who is sending everyone she knows texts telling them to vote Labour, I told her that there is absolutely no fucking way I will ever vote for them after their watching their fuck ups over the last 13 years. Her reply "They're better than Thatcher".She wasn't even in the UK when Thatcher was PM, yet she's using that old chestnut as a reason to tell people how to vote. FFS. Grr. Fuckin' commies.

but as im now only 5% disabled and not the required 14% i dont qualify for any benefits

How can you be 14% disabled?? The mind boggles how they can come to a final percentage.... is it number of working limbs divided by total number of limbs? FFS..... that all sounds like the biggest foboff in the world.

on bonus and allowances through ill-thought-out company proceedures which I've now lost.

DSG productivity bonuses, I remember them

Buying Manager's Specials from Currys et al was always very much pot luck. That yellow stickered item might be a genuine bargain. On the other hand it might have been the difference between someone hitting bonus or not. Repairs could be erm somewhat creative under such circumstances

Hang in there Pillock, decent quality baked beans may be on offer in the supermarkets again over Easter.

I shall neither publicly confirm nor deny if your assumption/knowledge of my employment details is correct :)

But basically, in about 2002 they introduced a bonus scheme that would net a good engineer up to about £100 a month. Other changes to the buisness made work much easier, and within a year I'd hit four times that. My last bonus figure was well into four figures, and under half of what one guy earned - in bonus, on top of wages, in one month. No wonder share price dropped :)
