I reckon it would raffle well enough, especially as people know what is needed.

PM me how much you want for it - I assume it's not so knackered it won't drive a few hundred miles before repair

I wouldn't guarantee it, it also desperately needs a timing belt although I have the kit. I'm really selling it amn't i?

+1 on the special sockets. I have one, bought it when I changed the exhaust the first time. It worked bloody well, stronger than the rusty old sensor that sheared off above the thread... £70 for a new sensor then... (Bent over by ECP, Amy needed it that night to get to work, she wouldn't drive the XM)

Would software help tell me which sensor will be throwing the code? The post cat sensor will come out easily, it's not had a chance to rust in yet (new centre section before crimbo). The pre cat on the manifold will be a proper prick I imagine, it looks rusty as well, so will probably shear off too, requiring a new manifold, and then a new sensor...

I can see this turning into the sort of job I just ignore until something explodes, or limp it through until next year when I get my yearly bonus and get amy another car...

But then some quick googling reveals £120 all in for a new manifold/cat (seems their one whole unit), plus £20 for a new sensor (all non genuine)

I have to get a 'type approved' cat don't I being 2004?

Being on 86k though, the original clutch will probably shit itself 48 miles after doing all this work however...

I'll leave it for now though, MOT is in November, and I'll see how long the light stays off for with a few resets, if it fails the emissions I'll just act ignorant and get it fixed. It's been puffing gentle wisps of bluey smoke when cold too, so it's not 100% healthy, Amy remarks sometimes that she can smell hot oil, although the block is never any more oily than usual.

It doesn't help that I hate the car, so have no desire to spend big on it, but it's only a few k into it's new cambelt/water pump so it'll be a better bet to spend on it rather than buy something else, but no matter what I spend on it it'll only ever be worth £300, and I can imagine the lolz selling it on gumtree would be...

God I hate it so much, boring bland slug that it is

A bottle of cataclean and keep ignoring it for a bit is also an option

Its the one I'm going for for now! Shes not driven it since I turned the light off on Sunday morning, itll do 1/4 a mile to school tomorrow, then 4 miles to chinnor, 4 1/4 miles back to school, 1/4 miles home and sit again until weds.

Its why she doesn't have a diesel!

My phone contract is ending after two years. As on O2 was looking forward to a smaller bill as the phone would be paid off.

Well what do you know but a software update has knackered it... Some would say it's a conspiracy....

I did something to my back yesterday getting some fencing off the back of a lorry. Can't stand up straight now. :(

Not content with just knackering my back, I am sat awake at 3am waiting for the pain killers to kick in as I think I have managed to break my little toe twatting it on a door.

I hope these things don't come in threes.

What phone is it? Roll it back/custom rom?

Unless it's an iphone, then yes, the man requires you to buy a new current model, whereby the exact same thing will happen in 2.5 years. Rinse and repeat

Fucking students.

A group of them havent got the grades they want so have put in a massive complaint about the way they have been treated.  Apparently holding only one 3 hour revision class wasnt enough for them (because only half turned up to it), also revision weeks where they could book 30 minute one to one sessions is considered cancelling classes!

Ontop of the fact that they are complaining that some have failed my modules this year, which isnt right because they passed last year and so must be my fault. Not the fact that they havent turned up for most classes, the final year degree is much harder than the previous year and they didnt do any work in between classes.

Now they have customer rights and want action taking.

I know an idiot who upon not passing his degree decided to complain. It took him 2 years but they eventually gave it to him. He used every excuse he could think of and it was everyone else's fault that he didn't pass. I think the problem is government and the education industry tells these kids that they are clever and must go to university when most of them are hopeless lazy fuckers. It is also why we need so many immigrants as they aren't afraid of real work and are prepared to get their hands dirty. What is the point of having a degree if you aren't actually very clever it just dumbs it down and makes it worthless

Worst thing is that these are all adults and most of them are in work.  Its because I dont give in like other lecturers so therefore it is 'wrong'.

I must be doing something right as I was runner up at Lecturer of the Year ceremony last week!

Autoglass.

Don't have windscreen cover so want to get a quote to see how much a new screen would be. I don't want to book an appointment, give you my inside leg measurement, etc before you tell me if it is £100 or £500.

Dont use Autoglass or any of the other big companies for an out of insurance windscreen ever

It will be 3x the price of a local fitter

Moog: Sounds a lot like my ex's attitude to her uni work. She handed in everything late, then even got extensions on deadlines... then missed them. Then would complain about her grades.

Anyway, my grump for today is cheeky cunts of users. Just got a call in today about a PC not connecting to the network, with details of the PC name and location. Excuse me, but that PC was last seen ten days ago in a different location, have you perhaps moved it then plugged it into a dead data circuit? Yes, we have logs we can check and find that out, so why not just be honest with us? You moved that PC without telling us and now you're fucked because we've got planned work for the next few days and can't come up to the hospital campus to enliven one data circuit for your dumb arse.

GAAAAH!

Console them by telling them there are no jobs for them anyway.

My degree was actually shit - but then, so was I.

I still am. Commiserations, Moog.

It'll be at least £500, there I've saved you all that hassle.

Now, phone up an independent local man , who won't take the piss and may even do it without a receipt for cash.

Ask a local trader who they use.

I think students probably have a right to complain now if they think they've been stiffed. I came out of 4 years of education with a 1000 student loan I mostly spent on beer .

I got a grant and my fees got covered . If the library closed at 2 or my lecturer was pissed half the time then it's not great but at least I'm not paying for it.

Now these poor fuckers are coming out with a mortgage sized fuckload of debt and if they feel they've spent this and been stiffed then too right they should complain.

Not actually 100% clear on what you're problem is, but here's a PC in a nice location.

Poo. Bum. Wee.

Reason(s) for failure:
nearside Headlamp aim too low (1. 8)
offside Headlamp aim too low (1. 8)
nearside Front wheel bearing rough when rotated (2.5.A.2)

Have they changed something with the headlight test? Lights haven't been touched for years.

Is that not the kind of thing they usually sort on the ramp, or have I just had nice MOT centres?

Different wheels/tyres, worn springs etc. can affect healamp aim

Bit of adjustment and a bit of grease- sounds like a grin to me.

Has the height adjuster failed?

Tester I use does normally try to adjust and advise on the fault if it doesn't work
