Jesus, thats horrible.

I am all in favour of people topping themselves if they want to, but FFS go somewhere quiet and dont involve other people. This is going to haunt her for a long time to come.

That does sound kind of deliberate. Fuck. Poor girl, having to deal with that will not be easy.

If you have made the decision to off yourself, then do it so no other fucker has to contend with this kind of shit.

Not nice for whoever finds the corpse but I mean that is a wee bit malicious.

Poor kid, that's absolutely awful. I hope she's ok in time.

fuck, thats my worst nightmare. Dont really know what else to say, shit...

Jeez, BC, that is a horrible experience.   Poor girl, I cannot imagine waking up after something like that.  Shit indeed.

That's nasty and I hope she's quite mentally strong.

A friend used to be a train driver but hasn't worked at all for years now due to mowing a man down.

He lost his wife house the whole shebang, just be there for her that's all you can do.

Oh that poor girl. I wish people who do these kind of things just thought for one second about the impact it has on others after they've gone.

One that still plays on my mind is a bloke at a local Asda car park who put a rope round his neck during the day a few years back, tided it to a post and drove off hitting a young family in their car doing their shopping. I just can't imagine how horrific it must have been for them.

I hope your daughter gets all the help she needs to recover from her terrible experance.

Frightening stuff. I pass through that junction regularly too, including a couple of hours earlier that evening. I hope she does get the help she needs, I can't imagine how you would get over something like that.

Thats grim, feel so sorry for her and what she is going through. Totally agree with pbk too.

Fuck that is scary, i couldn't imagine how much mental anguish she is going through the poor girl, I hope they offer her the right help, mrs fp's grandad unfortunately hit a person who was doing similar on the A50 in the 90s, he gave up driving for years after that, he does drive now but only drives where absolutely necessary.

Sounds like there wasn't anything she could have done and it was a sad case of wrong place wrong time. It's harsh though, I hope she comes to realise that it wasn't her fault and it was nothing more than sheer bloody bad luck it was her car the guy chose to jump in front of

Thanks for the thoughts folks. I can only imagine how she is feeling, but I've been through different phases, anger, grief, guilt and all the what if's. I've been trying to deal with the practical stuff- to keep my mind busy, but it's all bad news too. Se loved her recently bought  Beetle and worked bloody hard to get it, and now she has no car and no money and a big recovery/storage bill to worry about too. She had i interview yesterday for a new job, but needs a car to get there if she gets it., and I don't think she will find it easy to drive again for a while. A terrible situation gets even worse if that's possible. She's gone home to her flat to see how she will be, and it's only a couple of miles from where the accident happened, and on the main road to the big town.

I will say, after seeing the car, I'm kinda glad she was in a Beetle- she was a long way back from the screen and it is a bloody strong car. Most of her friends have 106's, Saxo's, that sort of thing and I don't think she'd have been uninjured in one of those.

I can't say because I'm obviously biased but I suppose it does paint a picture.

i still dont know what to say, your mind must be a mess, let alone hers . I had similar feelings - 94 when I nearly hit a dog with eva in the car last year.

I am sure AS could help with a car, I am happy to put a few quid in.

Bullies fuck me right off, got into a bit of trouble at school for tackling them when I saw stuff happening, i hope this gets sorted, it's a shame your boy doesn't have relatives or mates in the year or 2 above him you could pass the info on to, they could give the scrotes a kicking for him, I'd be getting him enrolled in kick boxing or similar, once he can stand up for himself and shows it he shouldnt get bothered again

I take my son to kick boxing every week, I know he doesn't always want to go. But hopefully it'll give him the tools to look after himself if the need arises.

I don't know about biased, but quoting random people who weren't there seems a bit desperate.

That's "The Courier" for you. Or rather, that's Scottish journalism for you.

I'm not convinced that the, "Aberdeen Man Dies at Sea", "Press and Journal" headline IS apocryphal.

Hope your daughter is OK, Mr Cade.

The fucking Courier - its not just being made in Dundee that it has in common with the Beano, the content is of pretty much the same journalistic quality.

"The Beano" is very well written, actually.

I think he's implying it's a work of comic fiction, like The Beano.

Sorry to hear about the accident, if you can call it that, hope your daughter will be OK in time.

I hate my 100hp, webuyanycarfor12p have offered me practically nothing.

£1745 I think they've lowballed by a grand, easily.

Bung it on Pistonheads, they've got a bit of a following on there.

I'll get a car for her through time- just seems a little unimportant at the mo, but it won't be a Beetle and it won't be silver... things like that seem stupid, but I roll with 'em. I've had 2 accidents in my driving days, both in green cars, and neither were mine...

just have to say, you guys are awesome. I like this little corner of the internet.

I guess the reassurance is that the police have said to your daughter and the papers that no charges will be brought so she's not to blame, still can't imagine the mess inside her head though.

I think local rags everywhere are capable of the same standard of journalism, not just DC Thomson titles.

It's not just local rags. I don't think "The Herald" or "Sunday Herald" have covered themselves in glory this week.
