Anyhow, backto cars.

 

 

Sounds positively horrendous. I will speak to the Citroën guy in Keighley to see what he charges first and then the retired mechanic down the road. Its nowt I will be doing in the near future until the house is finished (not that I would be that keen even then).

I don't remember it being too terrible, and the whole engine/gearbox lump is very light and easy to handle.A gasket for the transfer casing will be needed.Also much easier to set the rocker clearances with the engine out.It's fiddly doing the exhaust ones from under the car.

...taxi driver cuts me up... taxi pulls out of a side road onto me... Both of those were white Auris estate minicabs being driven by people from countries a long way east of here. Make your own conclusions.

I have just had a minor FTP. Came out of work tonight at 2305 to a very frozen car,de-ice then home.

 

Pulling out of the carpark bang bang bang what the fuck!! Rear flat tyre. oh fuck!

 

Do i change it or blow it up? It is fucking cold, blow it up and hope it gets me home,by the time i got on the drive it was down again.

 

Hopefully a repair tomorrow but i think a new tyre,it was only put on in July.But shit happens.

Pulled out on an otherwise deserted A road this morning. I'm actually into 3rd gear when some knob warbler appears from a few hundred yards behind me (from a corner) and then puts his front fog lights on.

I assumed he must need help with his vision so put my rear one on to help this tosspot out. He didn't like this so put his main beams on and drove very close behind me. I naturally assumed he must be the coppers or something and slowed down to 10mph under the speed limit and this just made him even more road ragey.

I hope he was ten minutes late to his important meeting discussing how many paper clips he'd sold this month.

 

 

 

This isn't the first time this has happened on the same stretch of road.

Thats the difference. A 17 and a 14yr old is a lot different to a 25 and a 13yr old. I have slept with girls under 16 when I was 16. My first time was when I was 15 with a 16yr old girl.

 

In this country, the CPS guidance was that they don't procecute for consentual stautory rape when the parties are of similar ages anyway, which I think is the correct thing to do.

 

Personally, I think the age of consent should go up in stages. So for example, 14yr olds can shag 18yr olds (as they do anyhow and its generally not procecuted), 16 yrs olds can shag up to 22yr olds and 18yr olds can shag up to 25 yr olds.

 

That way creepy old men aren't allowed to fuck 16yr olds. Its not a lot less creepy when they are shagging 20yr olds but I think that anyone who thinks its okay for someone in their 50s to fuck a bird on her 16th birthday whether its legal or not needs their head examining and they law currently allows that.

Made a start on the 75 boot leak. Got some creeping crack stuff, fnar fnar. Traced the leak, dried it all out and put it on. First dry evening since June. All good.

Fecking pissed down later on and all morning so far. Back to square one but a bigger leak now. Great. Feck off rain

I once had a similar experience when I was 19, I was in our local clubs and had chatted up this girl, we hit it off she said she was 17 in fairness she looked every bit of it, we exchanged numbers a few days later she rung me asked if I wanted to go around hers, i popped around and her dad was sat there, greeted me we had a chat, a really nice bloke, he asked me what I thought about her age, turns out she had only just turned 15, her dad told me that she always lied about her age because she could get away with it

She dumped me next time we met, but that was ok as I was then chatting up the daughter of my best mate's maths teacher, so I was at least able to get confirmation of age! It happens more often than you think. A local (and very well respected) coach operator had three drivers at it with schoolies on the bus, one of them being a friend of mine. He was 26 she was 14 and had pinched a senior tie to make the story check out. His wife found messages (on bebo - it was a while ago) and dobbed him into the police. All of our circle of friends had cops at the door asking what we knew.

 

He admitted it. She refused to implicate him in any way whatsoever and denied even knowing him. He got 300hrs community service and three years on the register but lost his wife, his son and was excommunicated from his church... coulda been a lot worse.

It's a rule I've always avoided since I started driving such vehicles in 2008. The scale of that one was quite scary; a lot isn't reported in the media.

 

When I was in first year (99/00) at high school our PE teacher was at it with a senior pupil, he left his wife for the girl. As far as I know both are still together too. He lost his job over that one too.

Its difficult not to smirk a little at the bit about him being chucked out of the flippin church. Hope he managed to find another way to get some spiritual guidance.

He was a Jehovah's Witness so he made it out to be a big thing. tbh I was more annoyed that I didn't know that him showing up at 8 on a Saturday morning wasn't 'cos he just liked laughing at me being hungover.

A mate got knocked off his motorbike by a taxi driver last night.

 

He was legally filtering at approx. 10 mph past a line of stop-start cars, the taxi was waiting to join the road from a side road on the right. My mate got eye contact with the taxi driver, and understood that it was safe to proceed. As he pulled alongside the front of the taxi it drove straight into the side of him, flinging him off the bike.

 

Luckily the car directly behind him was being driven by an off-duty WPC who saw everything.

 

Matey brought the bike round to mine afterwards for me to knock it straight for him so he could get to work today. Whilst he was here, the taxi driver rang him up to "get him to sign a form that he wouldn't be making a claim", and also to tell him that "if he lost a claim he'd lose his no-claims bonus".

 

What a wanker.

When I was at school our RE teacher Mr Frayne, left his wife for a 16yr old ex pupil when he was probably in his 40's. Didn't get sacked though as she had left the school and was 16 when it all came out (see my earlier post). I think the rules were probably a little different then but were strenghened for exactly this reason.

 

Last I heard of him he was the Youth Support Co-ordinator. No joke.

I think its still too much for me at the moment. I started taking the wheels of the Jaguar to clean the ABS sensors before Christmas and they are still on the car so the chances of me getting an engine out is slim to nothing.

A mate of a mate was unwittingly shagging an underage girl a while ago, she was 15 he was in his 20s. Anyway, ages after they finished she got in touch announcing she had been underage and demanded a grand to keep quiet. He couged up but a few months later she asked him for more money. This time he told her to FRO and sure enough she went to the police and he ended up in prison over it.

My rule of thumb is to only seek someone out with a minimum age which equates to "half my age plus 7". So when you're 16 it's 8+7 = 15 for instance. I'm 29 now, so (rounding down) 14+7 = 21, I wouldn't look for anyone younger than 21.

 

Also had an experience of someone telling porkies. Was in a club where everyone should have had to have produced either a drivers licence or a passport, so she must have been carrying someone else's who looked like hers. I was 23, it was dark, could see she was younger than me, but estimated 19. Turns out after I did some digging that she was only 16. Won't take too much blame because I trusted the doorstaff could actually do their job, and to be honest, where I was they are normally shit hot on underage drinking.

 

My cousin (early 30s) knocked up a 17yo, idiot. And 2 of my "sports" team mates got together 2 years ago. He was 34, she was also 17 and in Sixth Form. Notwithstanding the fact that her ex, also within the sport was 30 at the time, he was billed to her family as her "coach". That WAS a bit creepy
