Infoteam are about to lose the Acer repair contract and they’ve already lost the Sony one. They’re li**s . We used to security mark up parts before we sent machines to them. Said security marks were still present on parts which had been “replaced” on their return.

I'd be interested in knowing anything else about InfoTeam.... given that we've just torn a very large contract we had with them in two, hundreds of thousands a year i'd imagine. They're useless. Good point I'd forgotten this. No buggering about with drivers and such like either!Cavette if Alt-F10 doesn't do anything D2D needs enabling in BIOS. We still have the erm fall back option if the drive's been changed / recovery partition removed

Pillock’s route is the easiest way to solve the problem. Switch on and when you see the Acer logo (known as the splash screen) hold down the ALT and F10 keys. Hopefully this will begin the recovery process and it’s just a matter of following the on-screen prompts.If the ALT F10 sequence doesn’t do anything restart the machine. When the Acer logo appears again you’ll need to press a key to enter BIOS setup. It’s usually F2 on Acer badged stuff but it might be DEL or some other key. Under the Acer logo it should indicate which one.You should now be looking at a screen of various options. You’re looking for the words D2D recovery. Next to it will either be a tick (or no tick) or the words enable / disable. Changing the value will be a matter of pressing the space bar or another key, possibly F5 or F6. On the right hand side of the screen it should indicate which keys will do this.Once you can see a tick or the word enable next to D2D recovery chose save settings and exit from the menus at the top right of the screen. The machine should now restart. Try holding down ALT and F10 again when the logo appears.

Cheers for the pc help managed to et daughters laptpo working again. Unfortunately I also managed tuo completely fuck up internet access and now cannot access the net at adll and I'm using my Blackberry instead. With my failing eyesight its something of a struggle!
