Ain't that the truth. I get it randomly on Saturday nights (which is my night out) and either it's fine, or there's some little spoiler, where she has to say something to piss me off to try and ruin the night. 

Doesn't happen as often as it has previously, but I don't feel guilty anymore, I work my bollocks off at least six, and usually seven, days a week so I'm entitled to some pleasure in life I reckon.

I managed to knock back a small bottle of vodka last night, as well as the 'usual' amount of lager and doubles, for which of course I'm suffering right now.

 

 

 

I must just add though, that like all this sort of stuff you get off mates/read on the web, you've only heard my version of life, my missus I'm sure has her own which probably doesn't paint me too rosy. I only mention that because of the inordinate amount of mates/colleagues who are all absolute saints married to absolute bastards.

My desktop PC has run out of space. I was wanting to download House of Cards S2 & 3 but there was no room. HTF have I managed that? There is no (or at least very little) porn. Think I am due a new one soon as this has got to be on its last legs.

Windows service packs and other updates can take up lots of space.

The next thing is uninstalling programs/games you don't need as some also take up lots of space.

Not insulting at all, I am not overly computer savvy but on this occasion I had done all that. Did not really free up much TBH. Its just full of music and films really. Have deleted a few programs and films I dont want to watch and can probaboy get rid of some music but I think its just reached critical mass.

The computer is about 8 years old now and sounds like a jumbo jet taking off whenever I need to do anything complicated. Insurance - what a fucking massive surprise*

 

Regular listeners may remember me posting in the GRIN thread when my insurers corrected a mistake on the Land Rover paperwork and were apparently due me a €60 refund. Well, for reasons that I really dont understand, but lets just say "because insurance companies", that has turned into a €7 refund.

 

And then the Escort, which is insured with a different company altogether....I put in a claim for the windscreen, which they refused - again "because insurance companies" - so I changed it myself. Apparently I now have to send them written confirmation that I want to drop the claim they were not going to honour anyway....well, ok then, whatever. Oh, and since they dont actually believe that I have fixed it, they want me to get the car inspected at one of their windscreen fitting partners...which obviously wont be free and they obviously wont be paying for.

Then to top it off, renewal is due at the end of this month and the price is taking the piss. It auto-renews here, its a legal requirement in France, and cancelling requires two weeks notice in writing. Since the twats have sent me the renewal today, its actually now impossible for me to not renew this.

 

How about "fuck off you wankers?"

 

Looks like I will be "selling" the car to JeanPierre MadeUpName, which will cancel the policy, and then re-insuring elsewhere which is going to mean I wont collect this years NCB, but thats a small price to pay to be rid of these imbeciles.

Try dealing with the Spanish! Been trying to close my late parents bank account and opening another. I have all the correct documents, certificates, an NIE number etc. Only three years now.

 

And metrication kerfuffle. Trying to get a motorcycle (worth problem a bag of sand) will cost around another one for paperwork, ITV test etc. So will just buy a bike there instead.

I would, chief, but I think it's taken me a lifetime to 'upgrade' to Windows 8.1 and it's just as shit. I hate how you have to piss about opening files and whatnot by arsing around going completely off the home screen to those stupid fucking 'tiles' etc.

It's one massively un-user-friendly bollock ache to do anything and absolutely and utterly despise it. If Windows 10 operates with the same stupid fucking things,. it can FRO and I'll see if I can get Windows 7 instead.

10 is much more like 7 and XP than 8 & 8.1, normal start menu etc.

 

If you want to make 8/8.1 look more like what you want then install classic shell, that will give you the start menu you are used to. http://www.classicshell.net/
