Arsebiscuits.

News just in from Tame Mechanic reveals that the 'unexpected failure to proceed' on the A457 was due to the power-steering pulley chewing through the king lead to the distributor.  This is entirely down to the incompetence of the cretin who installed the leads.

You will be completely unsurprised to learn that I am that cretin.

Tame Mechanic simply shortened and rerouted the king lead and all was well.  Cost: NOWT.  You have to treasure people like this  :)

Took my Arsetra to the dealers today. To cut a long story short, after 9 hours they couldn't find the fault that I'd said only affects it first thing in the morning, where the immobiliser kicks in and flashes up warnings. I even photographed the warning for them, because I knew they wouldn't be able to see it. Diagnosis? No faults found, bring it back if it does it again. CHEERS. Not even a "we tried this and this just in case"? Nope, lazy bastards. No doubt they stung the lease company for the full 9 hours at main dealer rates. They even phoned me at 4pm to say it was about to be ready and I might as well go down - 5.30pm I drove it away.

Two sub-grumps. When I was in the dealer, waiting, for an hour for the car that was "ready for collection" there was a TV on. I was the only person nearby. It was on some shit music channel, so I picked up the remote and changed it to some Police! Stop! Fall Over! program. Five minutes later, someone walking past the waiting area noticed it wasn't on the music channel, changed it back, and walked off. WHY? I was the only bugger who could see, or hear it.

And, they gave me an Agila courtesy car. What a hateful lump of shit that is - absolutely terrible. I was meant to go to Nottingham today, a 60 mile round trip, so I dumped it at home and told the wife if she didn't lend me her car I would cry. 1200cc petrol, horrible driving position, nasty scratchy plastics, no power apart from between 5500rpm and 5550rpm, and a gearchange that I honestly thought I'd broken. Notchy as hell. If that's a budget new car, then suddenly even a 3 year old Focus looks like a quality purchase.

Top Gear might be history over here but its very much alive in France (i think its actually just about to start in France). It appears they tread a fairly well trodden path when it comes to ideas for features....

(those of a sensitive disposition should avert their eyes now)

How about Suzukis? I figure that's what an Agila is, nothing is VX on it at all. Different key, plastics, switches, radio.... Nothing is "family".

Well George McGillicuddy Gideon Osborne , baronet, has got to be higher up the list.

Why do so many people not check their tyre pressures? MIL complained of her car pulling to the left, so i popped round there this aft to find her little Starlet with 8psi in the nsf tyre and 6psi in the osr. WTF?

Looks like I'm going to have to make a point of checking this regularly before she is ditch bound. :-o

I was following a bmw 5 series this evening on my bike (terrible traffic with the m3 shut) and could hear that the o/s/r tyre was flat. When traffic came to a halt I moved out ( saw said flat tyre rolling on the rim) and when I passed driver's open window said " your back tyre's flat". F off. Well that's gratitude. I hope he crashes on the m3.

FUKCING TWAT in an old N reg Skyline.

For the past 3 months this wannabe drug dealer type scum had been blatting down the road, to the T junction right outside my house and then gunning the thing at full pelt in second gear until it hits the limiter. That's about 60 or 70 in one of those.

What to do? Are the feds going to do anything? One day this little cunt is going to have/cause an accident.

Grump two. Two weeks ago, got a letter from blood donors saying I had a high white cell count on my last bag full and I needed to go to the doctors. I phoned the doctors surgery, told them, I got in today (they offered me last week but I couldn't make it).

9.30 appointment, 90 minutes after they open. In 90 minutes they managed to run 45 minutes late, quarter past ten I was called through. 10.17 I came out, he agreed that I needed a blood test so asked me to make an appointment. WTactualF?? That's what I came here for! No, I need to see a nurse.

Two more weeks then. Twats.

Agilas/Splashes are surprisingly expensive to buy new for what they are. I hate taking the car to garages now, you drop it off and explain that it only happens when the engine is cold/has been standing over night then they call you 30 minutes after you've dropped it off to say they've driven it round the block and can't find a fault, when the engine is sitll red hot from being driven x amount of miles there.

Can bet your bottom dollar the fault will find itself again when it's -2 outside and you need to get to work, though.

I polished the Rover last week so it was only a matter of time before a bird crapped directly on it...(dirty cars never get crapped on, phakt!)

I dont park it under a tree or telegraph line, or under anything come to that..

Yesterday it was still looking lovely...

This morning I pop outside to find what I can only describe as enough bird crap for lifetime all across the bonnet. Atleast 20 different splats all in different shades of white and brown. Faarrrk sake!

Oddly enough the toyoyo's suddenly covered in the stuff and it's filthy. Ah well, it'll go next time it rains.

A young lady who I've recently met told me today that she had to show her mother how to inflate tyres earlier. At least we were both in agreement that that is a bit lacking in knowledge.

I wish there was a HUD system that showed what level of competency everyone around us has. Then again, that might frighten a few people off the road an' all!

Praying that I don't get called in if an oil light comes on...

Possibly related to the f*ck*ng morons driving through Mickle Trafford at 6.00am today with just their sidelights on. In a right pea-souper of a fog.
