It's not a Stobart, for a change!, I can't see who is, just a white cab. It looks as if he hasn't stopped at a road way on the way out and a passing tug has collected him with his trailer.

The cab is a right mess, apparently he poor chaps in a bad way.

Stella, my ever faithful lurcher, will sadly be put down this afternoon, once all the family have arrived to say goodbye.

Old age & advancing cancer have  just robbed her hind legs. My powerful drugs are keeping her calm/ pain free, till the moment comes

Amstel, (my Gt Dane/Alsation X) & I will miss her dreadfully.

The pain of losing an pet is considerable - i lost my cavalier king charles over two years, still think about him everyday.

I spent £40 on paint and lacquer from RS paint to do the seat cowl on my busa.

Alarm bells started ringing straight away - paint is water based, so no wet sanding.

I have just gone out to put some lacquer on it - it started spitting - cowl is now covered with pock marks.

I do not have enough paint to do it again - it was a 400ml aerosol.

Cannot get the copper bronze anywhere else.

Complete waste of £40.

I forgot to state it started spitting with rain - not lacquer.

Hard to believe some h2O has ruined my paint.

I've just been to see my 306 at the testing place. It has one massive cock knocker of a hole where some inner rear wing thing should be. Waiting for a  price to turn it into a van.

Apparently that lorry driver from this morning is okay, got told that he had a diabetic blackout and woke up inches from the tugs trailer.

Mr bickle it's always a sad time making that hard decision, sounds as if it's for the best, I luckily didn't have to make that decision with my boy who recently passed i would've been even more crushed than I was

Did the fuel pump on that mk 1.5 focus and my heart sank thinking of the worst when I pulled the old pump out seeing what greeted me, the pump wiring at the in tank plug had obviously been overheating the wires were brittle and the plug had broke the wires were almost touching and one of the wires wasn't even connected, it really looked like an accident waiting to happen, what a shit design

I found a dog in the woods, kept the fucker for a fortnight and was a right mess when I rehomed him. Cant think what I would be like after several years. All you can do is celebrate the happy life he had. All lives have to come to an end eventually sadly all you can hope is that they had a goodun.

Thanks guys.

She had a great life ,against all odds. She had done her time, and the end was quick, but the pain is mind numbing.

Because my other dog is autistic, i have to delay burial -whilst he gets his head around it. Its not working well, so far.

Alcohol will pay a big part of tonight's proceedings here. Sadly, for me, its an increase in morphine.

It's absolute madness. Sadly I think these cars often attract the lowest common denominator, i.e people who haven't got two pound coins to rub together so bid on anything they think looks cheap, then realise they either can't afford it or they just find something else cheaper.

I do indeed have an autistic dog.

When my life was more settled (9-5, regular wages etc) I used to help with abandoned dogs -taking the really destructive/difficult ones, hours from the needle -and seeing if I could straighten them out. Kinda  'last chance' saloon.

I found it immensely rewarding, if not a bit trying and hard work. The vast majority went on to new happy homes, with long lives. Very fulfilling.

Amstel - my wife immediately took too. Brought in by the feds on 4metal leads, he was starved beaten -confused by the world. Food quickly doubled his size, but even after several years he's a total misfit, at odds with society -so fits right in here.

His reactions to other dogs is all wrong, people he's wary of, but Stella (also a waif/stray) took him under her wing,  protected him & encouraged him. he bloomed with her.

He now understands- but doesn't yet accept.  Today is going to be difficult.

Somehow that makes me sadder to read than if it was a human autistic passing :(

My son has Aspergers, so I'm not sure what to make of that...

People think more of animals than other human beings.

I've never understood it, either.

Not trying to take anything away from the loss of Nigel's dog, though - there's always been dogs in the family and they may as well be one of us for all the joy and grief they bring. I think that was what the OP alluded to.

I think.

Thoughts are with you, Nige.

Every car for sale on ebay attracts the lowest common denominator - hence why my wife is stuck with her fiesta.

I think it offered it on there it would end badly - for somebody else.

Because there is no punishment for the fucktards that waste your time and money, this just goes on unabated.

Side effects of latest drugs not acceptable: I seem to have most of the list - which include 'increased appetite; bloating, irritability' amongst the very rare ones that could kill you (fortunately don't appear to have any of those). Think I may report them to Trades Descriptions as it would be more honest to have in the leaflet "Your blood sugar may be affected so that you feel the need to eat quantities of food that would keep a small African village alive for 3 months; you will look 6 months preggers and be in intense pain from lower abdominal cramps; you may turn into the actual factual Antichrist, as opposed to just being second cousin of same".

Had a letter this morning from local hospital trust postponing consultant appointment which made me, well, displeased. Since emergency admission for transfusions in April this is no longer "routine". It CAN'T wait. I'm intensely annoyed that GP apparently hasn't received the hospital notes. From over a month ago. FFS. Having just spoken to him on the phone he is going to see what he can do about expediting and call me later.

Can't fault the actual care - when I get it. The communications ... aaaaaargh.

Also, I just accidentally posted ^that on the 'grin' thread. D'OH.

I'm not great with human issues of this nature, no idea why really. Was scared that my daughter would have an affliction of some sort, which if she did I'm sure I would have accepted and got on with it. Having not really been around anyone my entire life who has issues I have no idea what its like though.

Sorry, no offence meant. I'll shut up now...

I had no idea how low a common denominator can be, until I listed my Pug 405 on Gumtree.

Since then, I appreciate how high the lowest common denominator on Ebay is in comparison.
