They were probably sizing up one of your axles for comfort and accessibility re: Operation Escape Romford.

Calais may have seemed more appealing to them.

Stupid gormless fuckers. Eyes in the back of head needed with regards to the level of stupidity nowadays. I mourn the passing of common sense.

Someone has managed to get into my email account and steal my address book. They've since been merrily sending emails to my contacts that contain links to further spam and that appear to come from me (not very convincingly as I don't actually use my name in my email address). Still bloody infuriating, especially as I'm VERY wary about clicking dodgy links etc. Malwarebytes found a shed load of naughty stuff on my laptop and this has puzzled me a great deal. Especially as AVG has not batted an eyelid. Frustrating FAIL. At least the last time this happened, I know it was because I was stupid enough to log into my email on a library PC.

DEATH WISH.

I know I'm always on here grumbling about drivers/driving, but the stupidity of people never ceases to amaze.

Last night at about 18.45, I was nearly responsible for the deaths of two people.

I had an artic out last night. The 13 metre trailer was almost new and fitted with sideskirts.

I had two drops on it, Romford and Braintree. Did the Romford delivery without any problems whatsoever.

Then it was a matter of driving through Romford to get to the A12. So, there I was in Waterloo Rd waiting at a set of lights. Just a car and a single deck bus in front of me. I saw something out of the corner of my right eye. I looked in the offside mirror just in time to see two blokes disappear under my trailer. I was stationary remember. Apparently, they were crossing the road, and rather than walk round the front or rear of my truck, they went under the trailer between the wheels of the tractor unit and the trailer. I looked in my nearside mirror to see them emerge from the other side. At that precise moment the lights went to green.

Suppose I hadn't seen them. Suppose the lights had changed a second or two earlier. I would have had the deaths of two people on my conscience. I would have no doubt been arrested at the scene and held until investigations had been carried out.

I'm still a bit shaken by it now, just thinking of what could have happened.

What the fuck? Why would someone do this? Fucking crazy!!

People are idiots. I was once getting a tow on a bar from the AA and a group of daft twats decided to cross in front of me. The brakes in my Peugeot 306 were unable to stop the AA van. I ended up with scratches in the sodding bonnet! Idiots.

Bloody Pikey numbers have expanded on the local common, over 30 plus caravans, trucks, cars, etc....all over the place... Had Fire engines there last night as they set a load of tyres on fire.

Fucking tossers, got rubbish strewn all over the place. The Council tried to clear up the crap but the kids chucked stones at the workers this evening, plod turned up, they did their best but they are fucked because of the fucking human rights act etc.... Fuck sticks and spunk trumpets .......Wankers the lot of em

They are lovely people, have you not seen the big fat gypsy documentaries?

Its never ever them, its everyone else who blames them. Their the salt of the earth. Lovely lovely people....

A few of these cheeky chappies were camped near my place of work for one night and the mess they left behind looks like the equivalent of three wheelie bins full of rubbish strewn across the car park.

Life on the open road and all that, eh?

You probably have already, but I would suggest changing your password, preferably to a sentence with some capitals and punctuation (e.g. 'Istolethewheelsoffmy2CV!').  Not only is it easier to remember than 'Wi28*DYH*jk398', it reduces the chances of a brute-force attack where automated processes fire endless password attempts at email accounts.  If your password is relatively short, it won't take it long to hit the right combination.

BTInternet are the worst for this kind of issue, you may not have done anything to assist the hack, it's possibly just bad luck.  It's extremely common and I see it all the time and it's nearly always a @btinernet.com address.  Have a long password, ignore any 'problem with your account, click here to reconfirm your details' emails as they won't be genuine and don't use the same password on different services - because if, for example, your Amazon account was successfully hacked, the hacker would then have both your Amazon password and your email address and can try them both together on other services, including your email provider.

Are you sure the Malwarebytes (excellent choice by the way, probably the best malware scanner out there at the moment) scan didn't just find masses of tracking cookies?  It's perfectly normal for them to accumulate if you don't clear cookies and temporary internet files regularly, they're pretty much just used to target advertising and are harmless but good to get rid of.  Also, programs like Malwarebytes will usually find a different set of nasties to an antivirus program like AVG, they'll find legit but unwanted/irritating adware programs for example, which AVG would consider a perfectly benign program, which it technically would be.

AVG isn't the best these days anyway, it's not bad but you might find Avast! free is a better option, once you've turned off the sound option so the woman doesn't keep talking to you every time it launches or updates.  That, combined with Malwarebytes and plenty of caution when browsing the internet, is usually a good combination for home users to keep their computers clean.

Pikeys have set up on old railway sidings in my nearest town. They have 4 or 5 of those big Intex free standing swimming pools set up!

It wasn't them, defiantly NOT them!

They stayed there for the night then after they left someone came along and dumped lots of rubbish.

Why do I keep buying cheap chocolate from Aldi/Lidl. It tastes like shite every flippin time for gods sake.

Posted

It is one of the few things that aren't so good from there.

You probably have already...

Aye. First thing I did. Added two-stage security too, and even had a bit of an address book clearout. Stable door I know, but it's done. Pretty sure Malwarebytes actually found executable files, not just bothersome cookies. I've just ditched Avast as I was fed up of the endless "UPGRADE" messages. Perhaps that was a bad idea.

Cos it's by the door... and they entice you in with sweets... how very cunning.

With all the flapping about Tesco's deciding to stop selling Ribena cos, it's like, you know... bad? For You? No-one seems to have made mention of the supermarket version of the paedophile from those 70's 'Stranger/Danger' ads.

"Come shop in here, I'll give you a sweet..."

"Sorry, my mum said... er... something about... oooh look, it's so much cheaper than everywhere else...maybe not ASDA but anyway, LOOK AT ALL THE MEAT. I can be be fat AND diabetic! Fill me the fuck up!"

Have to tentatively disagree on the lower end chocolate statements, I'm munching my way through these Aldi sourced items and finding them most acceptable

WTF is a 'pet bond' and why is it £200? That means before fees, it's £900 to start the tenancy BEFORE the first month's rent goes out.  Additionally, why is a 'terrier sized dog' seen as less destructive than our German Shepherd?  Why do I also need to fork out to get all the carpets in the house professionally cleaned at the end of the tenancy?

Estate agents in making it the fuck up as they go the fuck along, SHOCK.

Big thumbs up for Two Factor Auth.

I use Google for most stuff (mail, storage, photos etc) plus Microsoft for an OS, I also use Lastpass for password generation and storage and dropbox for more cloud storage. All these have TFA, at work when I'm training tech I'll sometimes give out the password for my work Google account (which actually contains nothing of value, but they don't know that) safe in the knowledge that it needs a rolling 6 digit code to log in. That code is generated by an app on my watch.

Paypal and Facebook also do it, both of these have prevented logins from overseas.

2 factor google is gpod, ive had 2 errant texts in the last year by someone trying my account.

Can be a pain when i need to get my emails on a strange pc without my phone but it happens so rarely its not much of an issue tbh

I borrowed my sisters Galaxy and went to the chippy... in Hornsea. The car is alright, although the steering is too light.

Anyway, i'm parked on the seafront, radio on and the fan is on as it's a bit warm. Chippy eaten and I'm parked on an decline facing the beach wall. I always forget "Does this have hill-hold?" Put the car in reverse and we go forward. I try again and the same thing happens.

Eureka!!! I must have to turn the engine on.

Annoying driving habits of the day...

1. Their journey is so urgent that they have to pull out of the junction/roundabout right in front of you .... before continuing in front of you on the empty road at 10mph below the speed limit.

2. The pushy/dangerous overtaker - who ALWAYS has at least one brake light out, and usually isn't wearing a seat belt

3. The "Fenland overtaking manoeuvre" seen on A roads with a long, long line of traffic all doing 45-50.  This is performed by people who really MUST move up the queue a couple of car lengths and involves driving on entirely the wrong side of the road for an extended period, regardless of whether they can see what's coming, before forcing their way back into the line of traffic by cutting up another driver when it does.

I always shit myself when driving from peterborough to crowland on whatever the new road is called. I can see why they do it, but jesus I've seen some stupid ones!

My stepbrother is fucking awful for it, we went from crowland to market deeping and I swear half the fucking journey was on the wrong side of the road. He just wafts out at 80, casually overtaking everything for the next mile of straight road before pulling in for a corner/car.

Maybe thats why he's had 5 fault accidents and 7 written off cars...

NYE last year we went over, and we popped out to get some fish and chips from deeping, and on the way back helped some lads out who had gone off the road into a ditch. Couldnt do fuck all as they were 8ft below the road so we gave them some chips and bid them a happy new year... (they were pissed, and they knew it, and they were shitting themselves, as they were axle deep in a muddy field.) We gave it a tug with stepbros transit but it was pointless
