Marginally related, but I can't understand why cyclists have headphones in when they mostly don't possess mirrors to enable them to see or hear what's coming.

Driving with the music too loud is now an actual offence here. €75 fine, but Im not sure what qualifies as "too loud". A handful of new laws have been passed or are in the process of being passed and this is one of them.

Illegal to smoke with kids in the car too. Not a bad idea IMO.

No smoking in cars with kids is coming to England and Wales soon, though gawd knows how they'll Police it.

The migrants in Kos are fleeing Syria and ISIS, and I don't blame them.

Nothing to do with etonians.

Apart from the Etonians who caused all the trouble in those parts of the world and decided to arm a load of rebels - some of whom it turns out aren't very nice.

Every time Mrs TRW drives the car she leaves everything switched on from when she last parked it up, this drives me up the Fucking wall especially if we've had rain the night before and the wipers are still on when I get in the next morning and the screen is dry at 7am. This not only includes wipers, but heater blower, stereo (full volume Carpenters, I might add), headlights, and any other electrical item you can think of being left on.

With her being ill this evening I had to go to the 24 hr Pharmacy and yet again everything is switched on for some unknown reason and I've deafened the neighbours with a LOUD stereo playing Ace of Base.

So, as I've had enough of telling her to switch stuff off before removing the key I have resorted to my last throw of the dice. I have set the heater to hot, blower setting to speed 4 and the distribution to the windscreen, floor and face vents.

I have also removed all three heater knobs.

Enjoy your day at work darling x

You do realise that when she gets home, she will be toasted, and so will your balls.

I chat to a young lad locally that rides bikes (Husky 2 stroke makes him a winner in my book) and was surprised to see him fettling a car yesterday.

'Got a bird?'  As that's usually when lads  give up the bikes.

'No, just for the winter'.

It's 106 16valve sporty thing that's been de-badged and fully barry'd with naff lights, tints, induction kit etc. I enquired as to how well it goes to which he replied positively with graphic use of swear words and hand gestures. I asked about insurance and how much it was, guess the answer ....

Not sorted that out yet! He went right down in my estimation at that point.

Bollocks to it, there are plenty of take out restaurants around here. I think I'll be ok.

Thats one way of looking at it.

Quite sure these Quran reading lunatics would still be out in force either way.

He didn't. But he didn't start the idiocy in Syria either.

I can't seem to find evidence that suggests that Etonians caused the conflict in Syria. All I do know is that all the pain that the migrants are suffering from is awful and we (everyone, not just Autoshite) need to resolve it someway. But that's got nothing to do with motoring, but is a definite cause of grump in my house.

On another note, are you sorted for a lift? We're in Pembroke next week, heading home via Hay, but there's probably not much room spare in the car for another passenger ( will be five up plus luggage already).

My phone is fixed! It only took a fortnight :( but at least I can recieve calls again. Waiting to hear what compensation they are offering for the utterly shite service.

First call in? "We see from our records that you haven't claimed back your PPI yet....."

Normal service is resumed.

I am going to Kos on the 28th for a couple of weeks, although to a resort the other end of the island and uneffected by the migrant crisis.

Many business owners on Kos have been left fuming because of the news reports from BBC, DailyMail and Sky etc... What none of them mention in their news bulletins is that the 'chaos' is only in Kos Town by the police station where the migrants are waiting for their paperwork, Also the BBC keep saying that 120,000 have arrived this year, but what they fail to mention is that roughly 119,000 have already received their paperwork and have been moved on by ferry to Europe main land, mainly Athens.

The other problem is the so called promise of milk and honey once they arrive in Europe, BUT IT AINT LIKE THAT!! and one guy interviewed yesterday said "If this is europe then I would rather return home"  which suggests not all of them are coming from war torn Syria. Some of these people are desparate, but many of them aren't and just want to get to the promised land that is Europe. Many are now stuck in big campsites in Athens wondering why they bothered.

we had a few migrants stow away on-board the banana boats from Ghana which dock at Tees dock.

the council in their wisdom* housed some of them in my home town, where they hung around the town square all day been lowed and unpleasant it anyone in skirt.

the council once told of this behaviour didn't want to know until on of them rapes a teenage girl.

they were then swiftly rehoused out in one of the shitty parts of Southbank. and most of them then voluntarily returned home. as the "didn't like it"

as for the "Islamic paradise" that is Syria, the best solution would require the use of one or more atomic weapons.

OK, here's the plan. One person post a sarcastic reply addressing the ignorance. 10 people "like" it to show support, then we get right back to rusty cars.

Reply - "Yeah, the crew should've murdered the future rapists before the ship docked. Like the crew of the MC Ruby did: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deadly_Voyage

And as for nuking Syria, Ali G had the same idea when he asked "Why don't we carpet bomb Northern Ireland?". Flawless plan."

Thanks. I think a local friend can get me as far as Bristol, which is close enough.

Money. SWMBO goes on maternity soon, and the wage drop may kill us. She says that towards the end it will drop even more, need to look into that as that would be fatal.

My wages will 'just' cover all the bills, with fuck all left over for fuel to get to work, let alone food, so this may not be good. May have to start selling off some of my Hoover collection and save the cash, which will be tricky as we will need that cash as soon as I make it!

Anyone want a Hoover Compact or 4?

I think you're mistaken. They're ALL in Calais waiting to get into the UK, land of (farmer-bankrupting) milk and (imported, due to lack of bees) honey.

Must be true, it was in the Daily Mail.

Frontera failed it's test....

I knew the cat was bad due to it having a giant patch on it but the tester thinks it's actually empty and that's why the emissions are really high.

Worse thing is the tyres though. It's going to be at least £300 for a full set, didn't pay much more for the whole thing

DIY.

Fitted some outside lights. Nice.

All up tidily in proper conduit. Spur taken from fcu tidily. Great.

Switch by back door where its sensible to be, even though that involved pulling meters of cable through conduit up down and round corners. Smashing.

Had a brain fart and wired it all up in series like DC rather than looped in parallel like AC should be. Imatwat. Arse.

80 Volts per bulb anyone? Grrrrr.

Frontera tyres  - If you need something a little chunky for all terrain use, I can recommend Insa Turbo Rangers. They are remould copies of the BFGoodrich tread pattern and work well. I have them on the Shitlander and the pickup. Good on road, ok in the wet for a knobbly-ish All Terrain and decent enough off road for normal use. Nice and cheap too.

Did my best to reduce bee numbers :-(. Was playing sports and felt something just catch my skin. Thinking it was a blade of grass or something, I opened up my t-shirt sleeve to let it drop out and <IMMEDIATE THROBBING PAIN>. Stinger was still in so I felt regret that a bee felt threatened enough to end its days attacking me.

If it had been a wasp I would have stamped on the fucker repeatedly!
