The grumpy thread

Has someone clyped you into do you recon? I thought they normally just sent abuse by post unless some reports it. It happened to my mate and the took it off to the pound and tried to charge him a fortune in storage (it was a week before he noticed it was gone). He just told them to keep it and shove it up their arse.

and the photographs they took? how do you explain them?

You wait till their photographer has gone before cutting off the clamp

Highly desirable* cars get cloned all the time you know.

I'd like to have a grump about the interweb, as it's all gone to shit for me lately. Last week some twat faked a transfer request and stole one of my domain names. (got it back since). N just noticed today that my hosting bloke has decided to charge 10X the agreed price, and is rather reluctant to give the money back even though he admits it's his cock up.

Thanks, but it's not highly desirable though and I don't want to get into a debate about 'internet ideas' like cutting the clamp off etc. It's not going to happen, I'm just mad because I got blasé, didn't check that I shouldn't have left it there and got done.

The bastards clamped a load of untaxed cars in my old work's car park, including my Cavalier SRi, despite airport bylaws being in effect and the car being in a barrier controlled car park only accessable via a minimum of three "red roads". I drove down at 2am, checked the clamp and the chain wasn't attached to the car. Knocked it off, didn't* fit the plates and disc from another Cavalier and drove it home, leaving the clamp propped up in the space. Wrote a very strongly worded letter. Got an apology by post.

In other news, a lass I grew up with's mother passed away on Friday, followed by an ex colleague I really got on with yesterday morning. Shit week so far.

All these lovely, affordable, interesting cars that are for sale on AS and the wider internet will all be gone by the time I have the Golf sorted and ready for sale and/or cash in my pocket.  *shakes fist at Sod and his law*

I think this chap's approach to the situation is admirable...

Nobhead painter has been pissing me around for weeks now, and almost just had me wasting £60 on a tow when he hadn't got room for the van he said he'd paint 6 weeks ago.

I'm at my wits end with the arsehole now, but I can't afford to pay anyone else to do it (and I've already given him £250 to buy the paint which he's obviously already spent on some other fuckers job)

Small claims court?  Name and shame?  Internet vigilantism?

He'll eventually do the job, eventually. And it'll be a reasonably good job, too. He's just laughably disorganised due to painting vehicles in 2k paint without a mask in a single garage behind his house for the last 30 years.

Maybe he's coughed up his last millimetre of working lung?

Corsa and Heathrow and Car Park in one sentence.  That's a triple whammy of OH HELL NO.

I thought I'd share this story my dad told me tonight, a chap I know who lives in his village has a late 90's Range Rover, He's had it years and has recently spent over £3000 on having a new gearbox and diff fitted, Saturday he was driving down the M25 with his caravan on holiday when the dash started to smoke and before he knew it the whole car went up in flames, This RR was also LPG converted so the fire brigade had to shut the M25 for 5 hours whilst they waited for the gas tanks to cool down.

To make matters even worse the insurance company have told him the book value for his car was £500!, To say he's not happy is a understatement!.

Edit - even better there's a big feature about it here!

Nothing. Perfectly understandable. Been there.

The day has an omen on it already!

Driving back through Normandy on Saturday on the autoroute, queued in 2 lanes of solid traffic for an hour and a half to get through a toll booth, where they charged us 2.80 euros for the privilege.

We moan about the motorways in the UK but I reckon we've got it pretty good in comparison.

Syria. How is the government so bloody blind? "Oh yes. Let's go and start another war in the Middle East. Our track record is exceptional!" I really do dread to think what the genuine reason for action is. Oil seems likely, as does military suppliers needing to sell more arms. I hate it and have written to my MP to say as much. www.writetothem.com if you fancy doing likewise before Parliament is recalled.

This presumably doesn't include any of the M6 below Stafford.

Emailed my useless MP yesterday. No doubt he'll reply when he's off the phone to the Nazi uniform rental shop.

The price of oil is already edging up. Politics? Always follow the money...

America is such a massive consumer of oil. Any threat to oil supplies seems to be dealt with in the same way. War. Political spin is used of course, chemical weapons being the latest. The World has many countries that have terrible records of human abuse, but only the oil bearing countries are considered worthy of intervention.

It won't end well, but it never does. Money and power being the two motives. The UK is now just a 'satellite' of America so here we go again. IMHO.

the interesting part of this whole syria 'affair' is the intention of the USA (and the UK) to openly side with 'the rebels' (the new mujahideen/al qaeda/the taliban whatever you choose to call them) to smash the government who the usa had previously supplied these chemical weapons to, along with conventional arms, attack helicopters, police & army training etc.

its afghanistan /russia or iran/iraq all over again and we are still living with the outcome of both these conflicts today.
