They look quite wide to be standard Spitty ones. I sold a few sets of the 5.5" rims a few years back and they were stamped 5.5 on the wheel face I think.

I went for a similar look for my old 360.

Both the Porsche and Volvo have complimentary 'bright work' though and IMO that is the difference.

For your Metro, I'd stick with black. It ties in well with the rest of the car.

Well I like it.  Not sure on the trim rings though, but they do look rather big; maybe some slimmer ones would work better.

I was thinking that too. Could almost be an album cover. Just need the parental guidance logo in one corner and the title METROSEXUAL in an 80s font in the middle.

If the title was in proper 7-segment display-like turquoise font, it would be perfect. I'd love to have a try at doing that but this laptop I'm using would have a heart attack just trying to edit the photo!

Wheel wise i think the black hides what its a rather cool looking wheel design.

On the (massive) to-do list.

The original black vinyl there was badly damaged, but was being a pig to remove, so just sprayed over for now and I'm planning on peeling and repainting at some point when I have more patience.

Over the years I've had four variants on the Metro theme and have always had a soft spot for them.  It's great to see this little car improving bit by bit.

Littlun is suggesting this. Pink line round the rims and cyan line down the side. 

Not sure about putting the side rubbing strips on at all.

A cyan pinstripe would work well, similar to a white pinstripe on a red car or a red pinstripe on a white car.

The Cyan strip reminds me of the bluey/green stripes on the Rio model, especially in Nevada red, which was a kind of dark pinkish red,

I almost went for this colour when I got a Rio Grande in 1994 but went for Kingfisher blue, and carried on the coloured stripes on to the bumpers.

I really like that. It looks quite clean at the moment - I wouldn't add anything else, it'll look too fussy.
