Supernaut Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 Good god that's lovely. I still miss the seats in the Xantia I had. Amazingly comfy velour armchairs. Royale80 and rantingYoof 2
Rocket88 Posted February 19, 2020 Author Posted February 19, 2020 Faults..............the clock /outside temp gauge has an interesting concept of time [and temperature]. Chrome inlay strip in body moulding has gone milky. Think I'll demand a re-fund........

When I had my Xantia occasionally complete nos trim sets would crop up and sell for £3/400... @vulgalour made them into zebra stripes on our old xantia and it looked really good vulgalour 1
sierraman Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 Well worth getting the Citroen XM book from when these were launched. Some really interesting insights in it, I never knew they were offered in America.
Rocket88 Posted February 19, 2020 Author Posted February 19, 2020 Wonder what your typical red neck mechanic made of them...............
rantingYoof Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 Good god that's lovely. I still miss the seats in the Xantia I had. vulgalour Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 Saw one of these the other day while on my errands, same colour too. Not the same car, of that I'm pretty certain. They don't half look odd in modern traffic, in a good way. Rocket88 and motorpunk 2
maxxo Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 I believe i have a book about the XM somewhere if i can find it you're more than welcome to it

Rocket88 Posted February 19, 2020 Author Posted February 19, 2020 Box seems fine..........May do a complete engine /trans fluid change when it gets a bit warmer...........
bramz7 Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 That gearbox and engine combo in my 605 was good. Sadly the XM I had (that we nearly did a swap on, remember?!) was awful. The guy had spent a fortune on underneath but it died of almost immediate HGF. I really hate the airbag wheels though.
ETCHY Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 Gorgeous motors uber cool. Still look great after all these years.

Yep, I''ll confirm the trim on a 406 does this. Lovely velour seats in the XM. If only you could buy a car today with similar seats instead of leather rubbish.

brandersnatch Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 Great cars, I loved mine. Probably the best car I’ve ever owned and I’ve had an automatic Allegro estate! Venice to Corringham Essex (1015 miles) in sixteen and a quarter hours including crossing the channel. Super comfortable. Enjoy. Royale80 1
richardmorris Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 I enjoyed driving @Six-cylinder‘s car last year. But too large for my daily needs really. I nearly bought a W reg ( one of the very last) 2.0 CTTurbo from Roger Bradford ( ex cx center). Same silver with velour and full history, but I totalled up £15,000 of bills with only 53000 miles. Which still left the leaking steering rack which was an mot advisory for the previous three mots. So I walked away.
