I bought a Golf 4 .....

I'd rather have paid the council tax.

I'm not a fan of Direct Debits, so I save each month across the year then pay it all in one lump sum come April. Then start saving again.

Fuck, I'm old.

I completely forgot about the two free months council tax. I might stick it into my stocks and shares ISA. :)

Going towards a new carpet for the stairs and landing hopefully (I'm worried I've become a grown up ? )

2 months of council tax and 2 months of water rates =

£140 x 2 = £280

& £74 x 2 = £148

=£428

Should be enough for a diesel Picasso

Insurance on the TF, annual storage for the motorhome and footie season ticket for S6 have landed. These are about 5 times my saving on pole tax.

Same here but I think that if you by by direct debt it s 12 monthly payments, has been here for years anyway.

I got all excited when I saw the thread.   may have to drink myself into oblivion now.

Ah that may explain it . . Still giving them a ring to be on safe side though,

I pay by direct debit but it's 10 monthly payments (I think you can spread it over the 12 if you wish though)

Another mid year moves so don’t think we get a break this year... I’ll just have to find another reason to justify buying another heap!

We moved house in December, so owe a packet for the new place. So I'll be spending the money on........council tax

Did get a small rebate from overpaying on the old house which helps
