Local to me but possibly sold within 2 hours of the advert going up. Seller says he will contact me tomorrow if the guy is a no show. Fingers crossed.

Can't say why that would be developed. Was an internet factoid. The Horizon seemed to have so many versions. Perhaps our resident @Saabnut guru may know?

Or our excellent northern correspondent @Dyslexic Viking

I am not 100% certain but I believe they were spark ignition but had a fuel heater fitted.

[This may have been featured further back but worth a repeat]

Phun phacts:

Market variants badged as Chrysler, Simca, Talbot, Dodge, Plymouth and Shelby.

Over 2.5 million made in Europe and the US.

Some assembled by Saab in Finland who made 2,385 cars that ran on kerosene or turpentine.

Some variants used Volkswagen engines and gearboxes.

I don't know about the fuel but I know that these were assembled in Finland along with some other Simca/Chrysler/Talbot models and they were adapted to the Scandinavian climate and used some Saab parts.  Unfortunately, that's all I know.

Edit.

@lesapandre I remembed this, this is a factory tour of the Finnish Saab and Talbot factory in 1984 and here you get to see the construction of cars and this fuel explained. And it is possible to choose English text. @Saabnut might also find this interesting.

Early? Mondeo @egg

Interesting, black top bumpers - so yeah, fairly early, what's going on with it's collapsed suspension I wonder? Not one I recognise by sight. Ta.

A little on-line detective work has revealed the Mondeo will be here...

Probably too far gone to be saved (from the photo) but might be worth a try if anyone's interested.

Chrome arches (and those hideous number plates) aside, that would have looked quite cool (to some of us) back in the day. Hope it survives with the kit on.

Blimey that is very much a period piece, possibly a Kat body kit going by the side skirts, might have been tarted up mid eighties ish? It would have to be an the power house that is a 1.6 as well wouldn't it! I particularly like the use of chrome wheel arch covers to not quite hide the rust..... But the the alley cat wheels and decent size side wall tyres really do make it look quite good. I hate myself for liking this!

This, but the guy wanted £13000 so I didn't bother getting his number.
