There was also a '10' - slightly more powerful in the same body - with opening boot this time.

Surprisingly - in the US export market the car was badged as the 'Triumph 10' and in Scandinavia sold as the 'Standard Vanguard Junior' - trading on more well know badges. In Australia the 10 was known as a 'Cadet'.

No 'hot' version was ever produced - British manufacturers didn't seem to do that then.

A tail-finned and slightly fussy version of the 10, the Standard Pennant was produced 1957-61. Superceded by the Herald.

Standard-Triumph was bought by Leyland Motors in 1960  - and the historic Standard named dropped in 1963 in the UK. Cars were assembled in India under the brand until 1988.

Ford started the sporty saloon version with the mk1 cortina GT, there never was an Anglia GT. Vexhils first in house was I think the FB vx4/90 ( the viva sl90 was trim & brakes).

The people who call it a Robin Reliant, I wonder if they do the same with other things?

Hi, I'm Johnson Steve! This is my wife, Smith Susan. I live in Regis Bognor, Sussex West, in Britain Great. And this is my Robin Reliant!

Who buys these? Collectors - too new? Or do they go for occasional commercial use? It has a manual gb apparently - servoed or air assisted?

It is in an odd space as an historic vehicle - out of date but not old-fashioned. Styling is fresh-ish for a 40 yo vehicle.
