Ssangyong Tivoli 2017 *Spares or Repairs* *Runs* - Picture 3 of 16

Ssangyong Tivoli 2017 *Spares or Repairs* *Runs* | eBay

A rather sorry tale of the owner getting mugged by a garage.

'They also said he had opened the DPF and welded it shut and they weren't sure why'

Think I had the slightly bigger version of this out in Spain last month and it was actually a nice place to be, good road positioning, decent interior space and quite comfy seats. Some annoying features like the lane assist made it feel like you'd let all the tyres down but it was easily switched off and the cruise had a bit of a mind of it's own but was ok when I figured it out.

The only really odd thing was you could see both ends of the bonnet like in much older cars, it doesn't disappear into the distance like on nearly every car I've owned since probably the late 90's? It was very odd at first but you soon realise it's actually not a bad feature as you realise it REALLY is the edge of each bonnet not "it must be close" to the edge.

Feel really sorry for the owner, how the fuck do these Muppet garages stay open?

I'm guessing it's the Fiat 1.3d in that?

But I'll check it out.

I'd genuinely buy that if it went cheap enough and I had an actual use for it 🤭🤭🤭.

And it's about £420 for a new dpf, not criminal.

Am I about to get a massive bollocking from the Mrs for buying another car? ,😬😬😬😬😬😬

1996 Mk6 Ford Escort RS2000 - Picture 3 of 22

1996 Mk6 Ford Escort RS2000 | eBay

Putting an RS2000 badge on these shit boxes is like painting a fucking Transit van on Constable's 'The Hay Wain'.  The daft thing is, it'll probably be worth a small fortune in a few years time.

It could be a 'recreation' from a previous mashed car or a dealer or importer 'special'. Would Toyota have bothered making so few? I know nothing about these but an aluminium bonnet for such a warm hatch seems unusual.

Ally bonnets on cooking cars are really a liability - prone to damage and not really worth it.

It's definitely a UK factory special edition. A low effort WRC effort like the Leob C4s I think.

The engine scenario reminds me of the 2.0 16vs in MR2s and Celicas. They too had low output/FE and High Output/GE engines and you'd routinely see ~120hp FE engine cars advertised as "fast".

They have got the model wrong. That is an 'Onyx Firefly'.

Not to be confused with 'Dragonfly' or 'Flying Tart' either.
