do love an FX4  did not realise a usable one could be had for less then a grand these days figured they would all be more then that, but to be fair I have not been actively looking/checking

Interior is very good with no rips or tears, horrible smells or adverse wear in seat bolsters.

If those seat covers have been on since new, that's possibly true. Although you'd have to trust the seller.

In a classic case of "my dad had one of those", my dad had one of those when he was between company cars in about 1999.  A later mk4, admittedly, but the same basic car.  As far as I could tell, the 1.6D was mostly designed to turn diesel fuel into smoke and noise.  It was comically agricultural and exceedingly slow, to the point where it was preferable to cram the family into my mum's Rover 111i for long holiday journeys.    

I vaguely recall it might have been a Perkins engine but no idea if that's right.

This seems to be a very tidy example of an amazing car, its rare to get the chance to buy such a clean 3.0 24V. The clips for the chrome trim in the back are unobtanium, I was incredibly lucky to find some this year.

Same here, I've only just seen this, about 15 minutes to go, but I'm out as too many broken cars already.... Wuvvum, go for it, then work out how to collect it... I do have a mate with traders policy but no chance of getting a reply at such short notice....

I had a rough one of these about 15 years ago I swapped for a P reg Rover 820i with 170,000 miles on it. It was still much better than this 6 grand one.
