164???? Tell me more.

It's a Volvo 164 not an Alfa, just for the sake of clarity.  :)

I did a rather half-arsed for sale thread for it last summer.

I hate flippers.  Mostly because I haven't got either space or funds to do it myself, mind (or indeed the nerve) but still... I hope karma gets him and it remains unsold until his kids have to sweep it up.  Uncharitable? Moi?

Why bother with a fibreglass one, when there are so many real live ones available?

Its the traditional horse style, but making use of modern synthetic materials for a vastly increased lifespan

Cheaper vet bills?  Reduced stable costs?  No need for farrier house calls?  LESS POOP

A real one would piss in the living room.

I'm afraid to admit I briefly considered getting it, until I saw the price. I  already have worse things in the house and I think it would look quite smart at the head of the table if I had a dinner suit made for it.

that does seem like a probable last chance to get a 130 coupe for borderline shite money, even if it does look awful in red. I bet you could find an engine cheap with a bit of patience. Or you've always got the VM 2.5 Diesel fallback option.

I reckon a nice VM four-headed monster would drop in there easily enough.  Style with economy - what more could you want?

97 E430, long MOT, £1200. This seems like a bargain barge.

I would lose the mono blocks for something more discreet, but otherwise - its perfect!

I’ve just come here to post that, seems immaculate. Not much detail about respray though. I keep going on about now being the time to buy aW210, maybe I should put my money where my mouth is.

An E430 is still the fastest car I've owned (yeah yeah it's not that fast whatever) but I was a little disappointed in how it didn't sound fast, it just kind of got to speed with no fuss whatsoever.

You're buying a clothes horse.

Seems weird for the seller to get so far with it and then decide to sell it, even if they did buy another car. Maybe I am just a little too suspicious.

A very fair point.

Also, it may just be me, but a reserve on a car without ticket puts me right off.
