Can anyone explain what the purpose is in using someone else's ebay account for scamming purposes? Unless the Suzuki Swift this bloke's selling is worth upwards of £55k, and this Cavalier is worth £65,600?

As you will see from the ad the contact method is outside of ebay (second picture) the seller doesn't have the car, they've just lifted a pic off the internet, when someone makes contact they will offer to deliver by Shiply and pay by bank transfer, the mug will pay, no car will arrive amd the ebay account will have been hacked.

The reason its bid up so high is that it will have come to the attention of Jack Buster and his "ebay vehicle scam alerts" group of fb.

It's absolutely rife with motorhomes, ebay don't deal with it strongly enough and many get scammed.

Part of the reason for the fb group is to bait the scammers and get the bank account details and inform the bank that the account is being used for fraud, then if someone else is conned with the same account the bank become liable for not shutting it down when they became aware..

I believe they imported one other example, I think it was registered but didn't last as long.

The reason a couple of them ended up here was that Nissan UK did the Type Approval for all of Europe, so there was the odd example that was never sold here but was available in other markets. The only one I can remember that got the 3-door Bluebird was Norway.

For that to happen, presumably they'd have to track down the yard owner, which could be a challenge if he doesn't want to engage with anyone.

He's trying to flog it on FB.  Engines not running and has the typical "honestly m8 it was running when it went into the shed" spiel. Right so.

The 205 XS that was being sold on here for £3.5k was a better bet if you want a smol french hatch.  Plenty running on ebay for <2k.

This was highlighted on "Tonight" on ITV at 7.30 tonight (available on demand).

A 2007 Transit based motorhome purchased  for £9,000, and a larger motorhome purchased for £14,000.  Other similar motorhomes going for £22,000 to £30,000

Sorry, but dont they do any research or checks? Similarly the person that bought a labrador puppy for £200, knowing they sell for £1,200.

Never realised that there was someone like Jack Buster to protect those silly (or greedy?) enough to fall for it.
