That CF with the slidey doors is fantastic. Be like 1980's fatha_Bo11ox by using it to deliver meat around the fens, bombing along with your door permanently open and loads of packets of Paxo stuffing and Atora suet wedged in the dash.

If you achieve that and wish to go to the next level, absent mindedly remove the broken-off ignition key while driving to and use it to clean your lughole out, causing the friggin steering to lock up at 40-odd mph (warning: if done correctly you will shit yourself big time)

Hi all!

I've not adorned this thread with any tasty NZ morsels in quite a while as I've been too busy to post, or to even follow this thread, tbh. That said, I've found something very interesting indeed - A volvo 360 for £2000!

What's so interesting in a 360 with such a fulsome price, I hear you ask? Well for starters, it's got these funny rear number plate lights, necessitating the number plate to be chopped down to fit between them. Odd. Someone's also boshed in a high level brake light, too. Hmm, curious.

Then round the front, there's extra indicator stuck to the wing. Interesting.

The last bit got my spidey shite senses tingling, so I carjam'ed the plate and it turns out I was right - this is a Japanese market Volvo 360! And one that's in bloody lovely nick too, by the looks of things. Imported to NZ in 1994, should anyone be interested.

My first CF had a broken-off key in the ignition!  I used to start it with a stubby screwdriver, which I then had to put in my pocket while I drove.  It also had no handle on the driver's door, meaning that to lock or unlock it I had to reach a finger in and pull the locking rod up or down.  To release the catch I then had to push the paddle just as the door button would.  I even replaced the driver's door!  And took the handle off, because I didn't have a key for the "new" door.

I can't figure out how to do links on the phone so have some screenshots.

I found my car for sale in CZ.

Screenshot_20191224_074114_com.android.chrome.thumb.jpg.158a1b1cdae148542ce3af091ebf1e03.jpg

That's roughly £2k.

I always thought mine was bright but look at this.

And this seems to be some sort of snazzy rev counter (this being a base it has a big clock where the rev counter usually goes).

But if you really want bright...

Love the door capping with diagonal slashes. Mine are just plain. Want. Screenshot_20191224_074707_com.android.chrome.thumb.jpg.78ad68f1b739964cd6893be25144e4c1.jpg

Then there's this sunroof. You could hypnotise people with that. Certainly worked on me.

Bit toppy at £4k though.

EDIT: poor maths, it's actually about £2k. About 30Kc to the £ last time I looked. That seems quite reasonable actually.

Those folded metal bumpers were seriously grim by 1992.  AR were really rubbing your nose in your refusal to spec up to an LX or an R8.

The tailgate panel fit is a sight to behold as well - look at the gap by the o/s tail light, it’s about half an inch proud of the quarter panel.

Up to £820 already - those hedge funds have finally cottoned on to what a surefire investment these are and you can get your money back anytime*.

Is it my screen or is there massive colour mismatch on some lower panels?

I love the daft signs they put over the plates...like those paper things with two shoe soles printed on them in the footwell...what a lark!

*we can freeze your assets at any time if you ask for your money back because we have actually spent it on helicopters and Brazilian go-go dancers.

"supplied  new by Albert Farnell LTD of Guiseley Leeds to a Mr Dale of Baildon on the seventh of December 1992"....oh wow

You mean the Gravy Boat? Luckily it was only the yellow one in the TT, when my wife's friend asked about it.

To be fair, a 26 year old is not likely to have seen an oil can like the symbol is and it does look a lot like a Gravy Boat. A bit like the Volcano erupting light/animation you get on VAG looks nothing really like what it's indicating.

Too soon, maybe?

They did remember ‘street coffee vendor’ though. Which could be interesting as the back windows on these only wind down about three inches, so if a punter orders a grande you’ll have to find a way of piping it out to them.

If you turn your head and look at that Mercedes warning light, it looks like Pacman has just jumped out of his space craft to give a stick man a blow job. (The gauges are during and after knob indication levels)

Mrs BMH rang me once in a panic asking what the warning light that looks like a frogs face ment.

Took me ages to work it out, but yes it was that one.
