PS not sure what that big American (?) Ford (?) photobombing the Escort is?  Not the Hummer, behind it.

This:

I'm guessing It's a 65 or 66 Chrysler New Yorker.

That is fooking bootiful and worth every penny IMHO

Isn’t it just.

i had a good look at the DTR T2 Stan Platts is selling at the moment when I was at the chevrons Rally with @Six-cylinder. White, very low mileage and red leather interior with red plastic. Gorgeous interior and  I remember this car coming up for sale in about 2004 at the CX rally when it had 14,000 miles I think, for £4000 which roger Bradford  laughed at. It’s now in quite a rusty state roof and sill  and door wise but I expect stan wants rather a lot for it.

As @Tadhg Tiogar knows, a CX is a very, very demanding mistress with many expensive tastes and habits. Buy the very best you can find and save money.

Seller/flipper has already tried it at ten grand and had no takers. Will be very surprised if he gets any at nine grand. In the British CX world, buyers have very short arms and very deep pockets.

Stan's white DTR T2 "F77 GHS" was sold to a horsebox hire company boss in Bucks/Oxon. Turned out the bonnet lid was rotten, and the new owner had a moan about it on Farcebook. This got back to Stan, who was far from happy!

Bonnet was rusty, so was the roof, front doors, bootlid etc., basically all the cx weak spots as it had not been restproofed.  I’m in regular contact with Stan through my column but leaving CXs alone does them no help.

Will the owner be breaking it for spares, then? I'd like to add to the stockpile here.....

Nothing I can say
An Escort Eclipse of the heart

I remember a customer had one of these brand new in the same colour while I was serving my time. I remember scratching the wing carrying some pipe into their house. Admitted fuck all. Nearly 30 years ago ffs.
