The 210 sort of passed me by, I drove a few when they were new, but always thought them a bit inferior to the W124, which I loved. Later I owned a couple of W211s, by then most W210s were nasty looking wrecks with scabs and holes in the wings, even at £2/300 I ignored them.

I'm beginning to regret that now, an early straight six such as this, will surely be the most desirable in years to come. Don't think I've ever seen that funky Avantgarde cloth in beige either.

This car, if kept as nice as it is now, is a sure fire £7,995 white room special in a couple of years.

Not a straight 6 sadly, but otherwise it is bloody lovely.

how does that go? That is it, unsafe at any speed.

Have to say I fail to see why this test has only just been undertaken it is an old car.

Don't get me started on this fucking crock of shit. I could make a whole thread on it. Look at how strong it's structure is. Basically can be buffed out yet still got 0 stars.

£895, full MoT, V8.  Wonder what's wrong with it.  Or are they really this cheap?

The sills are made with rust rather than metal, perhaps?

I know I had a 1.6 8valve. In Silver so it was ultra dull, blue scores less dull.

Yup about as desirable as contracting herpes from Michael Gove.

That statement is sufficient without the VD reference, bum faced turd that he is!

Is it a case of wonderfully complex/awful to drive or something? The last V8 I owned didn't end well, but I feel like doing something stupid (yet again).

Do it so I can buy it off you later! Sorry, I'm not much good at trying to stop you being impulsive.

They are stupidly expensive if they go wrong but the main thing is that they look crap inside and are awful to drive. I looked at a couple when they were around £1500-1800 a couple of years back on similar grounds to you. I have driven 1.6 four cylinders that felt more V8 than these do. Handling was bordering on offensive. I may have been unlucky with the two I looked at but one only had 60,000 on the clock and was far more worn than my V70 with 240,000 miles on it. Everything looked like a bean counter had been through making any saving they could.

Here's a MK1 Fiesta with a MK2 tailgate. Remember when you saw this, and the inverse, all the time?

That badge placement is just shocking.

In fairness quite a lot of A reg cars (changeover year) had Mk 2 tailgates and vice versa - though Im assuming the latter ( Mk2 with Mk1) was due to shonky repairs.

I didn't know that, I always thought it was a repair issue!
