I flippin love these things, I've had three of em. They were so fucking lightyears ahead of contemporary XR3is, Golf GTI 8vs etc it was untrue, but it was a Corolla so no one bought them - 16v engine, 7800rpm red line, strut brace, disc brakes all round and weigh as much as fag packet

Oh and black ones were a limited edition, which meant black paint, different stickers and velouuuurrrrr on top of the highly generous standard equipment tally of....a sunroof and a radio

Not sure I could splaff 5 large on one like but there's probably only about 50 left

Seller says it's a 602cc and that it's an LNA.

I thought that LNAs had the 650cc Visa engine? Which might be important for a non runner, with it's all electronic Motorola ignition vs 602cc points.

Not that I'm interested at all. Where's Colchester?

Seller also has an Ami Super apparently.............

Why does every single one of these seem to be automatic?

Because at the time of building, Mazda top brass wanted to deprive Yorkshire Dwelling Scotsmen of the joy of a small chuckable manual car..

"This particular vehicle has had just 3 former keepers from new"

Non-Domestic Product:No

Imported from Guernsey I know because my friend bought it there and imported it to the UK so I could buy it. 2 owners in Guernsey when he bought it. I owned it 2004 -2010 and it was a great car.

Worry not. Buy.

But sir, I have to add at least one headlight!

Loads of these, or similar on, Portuguese roads. The rear, shed like construction, (wood) would have been made in said country.

Tried to buy this guy's Ami Super several times this year, but he is impossible to deal with. He cancelled one of several attempted viewings by text just as I hit the M25

Ah.  I was actually half tempted to have a bid until you said that.  I've wanted a 2-pot LNA for a while, and this one doesn't seem to be too bad bodywork-wise - even the clutch isn't a major issue when a car has an engine that an 11-stone weakling such as myself can lift out by hand.  Don't fancy wasting a day's trailer hire and 50 quid in fuel though.

don't let me put you off! You're much closer than I am and if you can catch him at the right moment you'll probably be alright. In fact, can you go and buy the LNA and have a proper look at the Ami on my behalf..?

WHAT PROOF do we have that an Airport admired a car? How even it it possible?

The Ami Super was previously advertized for something like £1850 or 'Make Offer'..  When I inquired, he replied that he'd had an offer of £9000 but was being mucked about by the buyer ..so if I would turn up with £8500 in hand - he'd take it.

I'm sure he would have ..for a 1000cc 1970's  99,808 mile, estate car, which is rusted / not roadworthy, and possibly last used in the 1990's,  needs re-trimming, has no spares nor active club support (anywhere), and is without registration documents.  To be fair the external bodywork looks to be in good shape ..but I didn't bother to reply.

I see it's now advertised for £3750 or 'Make Offer'

..and most likely he'll advise it has been 'dry' stored all these years..
